Love the Deus Ex HR soundtrack, bought it on Amazon even if I don't have played the game (yet).

This theme gets in my head, one of the best games in the generation:

I bet Blender does have plugins/exporters for UDK too. It's free software.

I've started using Windows Sound Recorder for more complex stuff recently.

    You started it. Good memories:

    Woa, congrats, this is beautiful.

The only thing a little off for me -but i'm just looking at the screens- is the underground sewer... it strikes for being too modern-looking, while i'd expect there to be even more ancient structures than aboveground.

    But i'm nitpicking.

"Two sources told me that earlier this year, frustrated with the lack of progress on Doom 4, ZeniMax came to Id with an ultimatum: make something happen, or else."This sounds bad

At this point the right thing to do –to me– would be to stop working on this game and do something else for a while. I also would be curious to see what an external team would be able to do with the IP and a blank slate to work on; I fear that id is under an unbearable amount of pressure to make Doom happen, and I mean from their very own selves first and foremost. Then they face (enraged) fans and a (skeptical) publisher.

I hope they can pull it off.

    Quote from Obsidian

The real issue is that I think people who come to play an id Software game expect the game to be fast, filled with carnange, and brutally hard.

This is us, we grew eating pizza and Doom, but let's make an headcount: how many can we be? We are a niche of the current market, and we unfortunately aren't as big as Bethesda's targets. Or whatever publisher for the matter.

    Quote from JeanPaul

I have also heard from those who worked on it that compiling and getting things playable is a serious nightmare.

Guess it is, they provided these kind of numbers

Attempted a marathon of House Of Cards with my sister on friday, we attempted to watch the second half of the season together but we fell asleep.

Yesterday resumed the effort, #9-10-11 are brilliant and deserving top scores!

Have been watching all seasons of Southland recently, have made it to Season 5, this show is really good

Gave it a go when it was first coming out, didn't like the first two episodes so I didn't bother.

I don't want to make reference to recent movies, but if you liked Memento you can't go possibily wrong with this.

Interesting that you say that, I always find the religious undertone of Hollywood movies (if they have it) to be a huge thorn in the eye ("Signs", wtf...). It always detracts from my experience.

I think that's because they always want to spill their beans out for you (haven't seen Signs btw), I liked the take here, seemed different to the usual for me.

Enjoying family time at my sister's in the UK, we've been watching a few things

TED - funny but i expected more (huge fan of Family Guy)

Skyfall - a huge disappointment, the talent of Bardem is totally under-used imo; hate the setup for the next batch of movies.

Snowhite And The Huntsman - watchable.

Love Actually - not really funny and hot chicks get like 4 minutes of screen time, so it's definitely a thumb down.

Winter's Bone - it's a re-watch for me, and I can't say i like it more, totally overstimated movie imo.

watched event horizon from 1997. such a... interesting movie with a little bit weird end

If you haven't seen it, I suggest Pandorum.

Well, I want to see it again because it left me with mixed feelings... but you cannot say it's a bad movie to me. It's a bad Alien movie, as they advertised like that.

As an atheist, I really enjoyed the religious aspect of the movie. (And unsurprisingly, a friend that is a firm catholic, find the movie to be rubbish.)

implying anybody plays cs_ maps in competitive

Yeah, that was stupid of me; I just wrote thinking that there were some non-ladder tournaments doing that kind of thing a few years ago, and with my clan we had some clanwars... but letting it sink it a bit, these changes allow for competitive matches on cs_ maps.

The Walking Dead season two was a diaster.

Duh, I've heard several people say that while i'm on the opposite side of the fence. To me S2 was spot-on fixed on drama since ep1... I need to go back and watch everything (right now i'm not following S3) back to back, S1 for me was a big disappointment, probably because I was tricked to think there was more action than actually was, and found it too slow to entertain me (except the last couple of episodes which hyped me a lot).

I think the site is simple and nice, does its job I guess. What about adding some screenshots?

If i had to nitpick, in the Trackmania page, the header is from the F1 game; also whitespace could benefit some tweaking for improved visual hierarchy.

Off topic and totally a personal curiosity: the art of the Italian track, does it take inspiration from Tuscany and Rome? For the track design, did you get some reference from real F1 tracks?

PS: the yt playlist for the Codemasters' trial should be rearranged, "playing all" starts from the last video.

The hostage update seems intersting but... I dunno, what about e-sports? There were rules and conventions based upon the original rules, sudden changes like these don't seem to help.

    Interested in trying it out.

What's pretty contextual is the variety of takedowns you can see depending on what's happening (are you sprinting, are you detected, your position from the NPC, etc.)

Don't get me wrong, I understand the design challenge... but i would have preferred to be able to choose while "staying in the game", like in Chaos Theory (you grab an NPC then you decide to kill or knock it out). It's like if you had to go in a menu to choose your stance: it's such a core action that a UI is disrupting, no matter how quickly you can switch. Then again, I know the pad has just as many buttons so I'm not saying "you should have done this" just saying the result I would have preferred to see

Really like the simplicity of it, congrats

It would be nice to be able to also click on the image of a project to open the gallery, not convinced about opening a new tab for the mini-sites, but i guess it's irrelevant.
