I have to agree that the general mid-eastern theme is a bit boring now; but they mixed it up pretty much. I'm not completely sold with these screens.

Meanwhile, I paid, what, $50 for bf3 and I have about 200 hours logged into that game?

    Isn't that 50$ + 50$ for the season pass

But yeah, there are games giving you an incredible amount of value for your money, and yeah gamers are jerks.

Zynga grew at a rampant speed. Supercell grows slowly and carefully, Zynga IPO'ed and look where that got them, Supercell is private etc.

Yeah, that's what I meant with "god complex"

No objections to the rest of the comments.

Jetpack Joyride is great! I've still got to check out "Fish Out Of Water".

I actually did check if it was an achievement i couldn't remember, then it hit me. How the hell I didn't get notified of this I'm subscribed to their YT channel.

From the trailer makes me think of a mix of an artillery and Tiny Wings... i'll check if there's a trial compatible with my crappy old devices.

Ok, now I get what you mean.

That's a really intersting point, yeah, you can put your money on it that pricing will be different... and they'll say it's because of the royalties.

Chimeray: i'm about of the same opinion. One thing I was thinking since the beginning: if MS has gone into all the trouble to make such an infrastructure, I guess it's the publishers that asked for it(?).

    Quote from Beck

Also, you can probably guarantee the prices of digital games will still be full (console) price rather than matching PC/Steam prices. Even though they haven't had to create a disk, packaging, ship it and house it in a store...

Steam prices are full-retail price for new PC games, they don't sell it cheaper because it's digital.

They have that 10% off on preorders (depending on the publisher), then I could most of the time buy a PC game on Amazon at lesser price than on Steam.

Except if there's some promotion going on. Which it's very often, to be fair, but nonetheless.

The only decent RE movie to me was the third. It really seemed to step it up from the previous, then they went back to the formula. I really don't understand why the people making it enjoy making it so fakey.

I agree with everything you wrote, but how's that different from what Zynga has been doing? I mean "god complex" aside, better execution...

Rovio has simply a different mentality, they haven't made any grinding game... they probably are studing one to cash-in themselves, but they seem to want to do somewhat original stuff.

They certainly are having some troubles and feel pressured to find a new brand to build upon, in fact they are already transitioning into publishing smaller dev's games. I think the first two are coming out like this month?

In the mobile space I really admire Halfbrick, they had quite a bang with their titles, they were original and set new models others have followed.

I've spent quite some time on Jetpack Joyride (when sitting on the toilet ) and have unlocked most of the stuff and haven't paid a dime, I like that the game feels fair: no objectives are unreachable, the interaction is enjoyable, even if extremely repetitive.

Yeah, probably; i'm convinced in Italy they build like shit, most of the apartments i remember visiting, you can hear annoying sounds from neighbours (unless particular cases).

I intend to relocate soon, my concern/fear is if I can adjust to a more lively area... i live in a terraced house (luckily the one at the beginning) and i'm just outside my (little) town, so the only "noise" i get to enjoy are birds singing around but i can cycle ten minutes and be in the town centre.

Everything is usually fine, except for these last days: a neighbour in the building aside is fucking merging two apartments and it's all day drilling and hammering down walls, i feel like i either punch through my eardrum or kill someone

@alec: ty! Never had one yet; seems very very nice... compact keybs are nice for ergonomics (mouse is closer for right-handed) but I never get used to those secondary functions for the numpad, even if i don't use it that much.

Supercell made $175 Million in Q1 2013 alone.

Read an article about them when they took off, a couple of months ago. Impressive.

What do you think about them? I mean, could it be the new Zynga?

Probably they won't scale just for the sake of it, but i mean, are their games that solid? Both doesn't seem to be anything more than lots of other browser games... Hay Day pretty much looks like a Farmville rip-off itself!

What do they offer, other than a higher production value because of the native experience? I don't see the potential there to build a brand like Rovio did.

I kinda think that Zynga's failure is due to their too slow transition out of facebook to bring their major IP to mobile.

Not sure what happened as it did get cancelled, and then renewed again, but I'm glad it's back anyway

I understood they wanted to make only one case, so I wasn't surprised nor angry about splitting in two seasons and then having the show to end. And unlike comments reported on wiki i'm reading, i was also happy about the finale... since I had formed a vague idea about who would be the murderer.

Afterall, it was an actualized Twin Peaks.

I hadn't yet read anything about the original series from which it is based off; I see the Danish version does have one case per season... but technically The Killing is half a season, running at 13 ep., making it complete would have been a bit rushed (on the flip side it could have been more engaging).

Rovio have angrybirds, but that seems more solid than farmville.

No joke, they didn't simply went multi-platform, they built a brand, they have toys and cartoons and playgrounds even. And you can probably keep interbreeding those birds with other brands like LEGO does. Angry Birds from Middle Earth next? [Blocked Image: http://unleashthedog.net/emoticons/osd.gif]

I was expecting quite different posts, then with Saint Seya and Ronin Warriors started to be more like it. And I definitely remember of MASK now.

Kudos Dark & Robert Briscoe, I was thinking I'd be the first to post Duck Tales, Gummies and Inspector Gadget.

Btw I was basically watching all the Japanese (which was censored most of the time) and Disney stuff they would air on the two kids shows I'd watch in the afternoon... let me post what you didn't but I watched the most:
