To be honest i started the topic after seeing the picture below.

I vaguely know the reasons, i confess i didn't dig in what's happening (i'm keeping up with the shit that's happening in Italy via facebook reposts of news - and i'm so nauseated that i can't really accept to dig deep). Mostly, since we have several Crytek employees here, i was curious to know if their guys are well and all... i'm trying to picture the fights and "a few hundreds meters" people programming videogames, it's such a justaxposition.

I read the post about the motivations on switching engine, and it's all clearly agreeable.

On the results, seems pretty good right now, like the water in particular. I'm sure it's the image compression but textures don't seem as good and lighting doesn't seem (yet) on par as the Source build... just my impression?

seems the kind of programs they have adopted for most of the movies where they need sculpted bodies. I'd love something like that (except for the massive barebells), i'm pretty sure nobody does this kind of thing in small towns, i'm pretty sure in London someone does.

I was highly skeptical as well with Rising Of The Planet Of The Apes, then the trailer was convincing and movie was very good. I totally fell in love with the ape... amazing CG; i ended up siding for them (as I always do in this kind of movie).

I'm looking forward for the new one as well.

Never watched the Tim Burton's one, costumes were terribly ridiculous, and I really couldn't handle that kind of shit having read the book (although i did read when i was in my early teens).

Flappy Bird fallout: Apple, Google rejecting apps with the word "flappy" in the title

Following an onslaught of Flappy Bird clones, it seems Google Play and the iTunes App Store have started to filter out "flappy" apps.

I dunno if you've missed, but recently there were (more) rumors about Amazon putting out an Android console this holiday season.

They got the writer of some of the Halo novels on board, which said months ago, when the word got out, "i wouldn't be there if something exiting wasn't going on".

I've heard that MS will/should sell Xbox out... i personally can't see it happening, dunno why they should; they have a multi-year plan, they have product integration and, above all, Xbox+Kinect is the setup leading, more than all, to the "house of the future" plan that Bill always had in mind.
