    Looks awesome!

I must admit I was biased toward the first for many reasons, but now that I've seen the gameplay… weapon handling seems great, I think I'm catching glimpses of recoil done right, and this body destruction system seems incredibly satisfying.

When I was recently pissing about, I forgot to mention that it's very annoying that they removed granularity for the map selection screen (in casual).

I'm sure it's been like this for long now, but boy it's annoying!

Also I think that in general the Mac client is buggy, for both the game and Steam, some stuff has been there at least a year, and they didn't fix shit :-|

Trying to do a SP map is going to be like too many chefs cooking the soup, better go on doing it the way some of us are already doing it, such as with RickD or FMPONE working with other designers on maps. We don't need a team for that sort of stuff, and trying to build a full one for a single level makes no sense. That's my view on it anyway.

I agree, since I was mentioning sp project I want to clarify that I would see it work the valve way: cabals. We know that a "chapter" usually is made by 2-3 physical BSPs, so you could have 2-3-4 ppl working on each: one designer making the base and the artists producing content for it to make it amazing.

    What Puddy said.

Also Tomm's. I remember reading ages ago in DaveJ's blog a tip about taking a break if getting blocked, and do something completely different for a few days, like a sci-fi room if you're stuck on some medieval/modern theme.

Like some already said, i think that to start it's best to do it with a very small and tight project, eg: first chapter of Minerva or Gone Home (in the sense that it's a limited environment).

Scrap the idea "we can always make it bigger": think something small and ship it.

Also, I don't think you necessarily need to create a team trying to get all hands on deck, it can even be that 8 people work on a couple of maps on Source and a few others on a UE4 prototype.

Don't make a monolithic team, but a space where people can collaborate in smaller groups. Pitch ideas like at a game jam and let people even start different projects if they like.

Personally I would like to see HL2 pushed to the limits, before Valve comes with Source 2. Or some small (explorative) game if you go by using a multi-purpose tech (ue4, unity).

I'd leave posting plots to the collaborative gdocs, makes the topic confusing.

I'm sure everyone has an SP project or something in the drawer. I worked on Riot Act: the project was more ambitious so i always dreamed to get it to completion, I can talk to Germano to get permission to do so if people is interested.

I always dreamt to see a next-gen Cannon Fodder, think that can offer an occasion for beautiful eye-candy and a game easy to pick up. Alternatively, I'd like to see a revisitation of Commandos. These sort of projects would allow independence for creators, like Minos suggested.

As per contribution, I don't have a workstation atm and have been inactive for ages. It's my intention to get back in the business though, gonna shop for a computer soon.

Have to sort out my life a bit first, as a few things are changing in my workplace.

Every time I hear people saying they are missing the family I feel like a pile of shit… I live very well on my own, never missed anyone the year I was in Africa, don't feel the need to come back to Italy now that I'm in England… I even see my sis little, and she lives 100mt from my room. She says I contact her only when I need something :/

Mmh, I feel better in knowing I wasn't off in my judgment, although I just "looked at the cover".

I remember waiting impatiently for L4D, I even bought the 4 pack to share with mates of a forum. My machine broke just before it came out and I couldn't rebuild it. When I was able to play like two years later I found it unplayable, I mean I couldn't get into it and deleted it after quitting. First time I did something like that, my worse spent 14€ or whatever it was.

Reading critiques in other forums I am wondering if being CPU bound like they are saying affects the graphics department. The way it's explained sounds very distinct matter.

Apparently they are locking the game at 900p-30fps on both consoles "to avoid discussions and flames"

They are also saying that the true problem is being CPU bound so what's being limited is the AI.

I don't see the problem of even cloning a game (never gonna happen 1:1) that no one is interested of bring to modern times from old gen. If there's an audience, let it be.

Hmm, looked at their kickstarter. Really, shouldn't low-level backers get a voucher to get their backed amount knocked off the final price or something? Seems stingy to have people donate like 10 bucks and get basically zilch for giving to a project without any promise of return on investment. Or?

Or maybe I just don't understand Kickstarter.

    I haven't backed anything yet because atm I don't understand/trust the service.

IMO they should have looked at promod, and made changes based on that to create that competitive scene that is trapped in MW1.

Is the competitive really still at the original MW? Oh well, nothing to complain for me then. So you can still find people playing online (on PC as well)?

Seems an interactive experience, like Gone Home and the upcoming Everyone Is Going To The Rapture (or is that out?).

IGN's headline was: "If Bioshock had a baby with Gone Home in Twin Peaks, it would be The Black Glove".

If the game it's limited in modifying the course of event switching just between those 3 options for every artist... yeah, it's pretty weak. If they can fit some sort of puzzle game then I guess becomes more interesting.

Atm it's quite impressive in presentation, like the graphics but i think sound department is even more impressive... so much good quality voice acting already.

    CUT

    Quote from SpronyvanJohnson

Word of advice Blackdog, you worry too much. If you generally feel love for her there's nothing wrong with saying that. Even if you don't plan to be together forever. It's about the moment and in this moment you love her, so why not enjoy it while it lasts? Why hold back and worry about the future?

Yeah, I am that kind of person unfortunately.

Do agree Ravage, and I definitely am not experienced enough to decide something like that.

That was my problem (Sprony): she came to me asking if we were in a relationship, and I couldn't/didn't want to give a straight answer right away because (a)I was concerned she had too long term plans (ie: living together and such) (b)she said multiple times she didn't want just a fling because she got hurt too much previously, so she wanted to pull out before getting too involved, if I wanted just that.

In the past I had loads of unrequited loves, and now I don't feel anything like that, and I mean: I'm super-happy to have her around, but as well happy that I have a lot of own time as our schedules are hard to match and I see her for 2-3-4 days at a week distance or more, and I'm not "omg I miss her so much". I have those "i love you" just in particular instances... but as well I feel something for a couple of other girls, so I was like "maybe I wouldn't be completely honest and when this ends she'll look back and think I lied".

That's why I was waiting to "have the talk" with her, one of these girls is an Italian friend that in many instances was behaving like she is interested in me: she proposed to have a brief holiday together, and one idea was to have a car trip and sleep in the car! So I wanted to "test myself", see and talk with this other one and understand where my heart is.

So my advice would be, F*** HER RIGHT IN THE PUSSY BRO !!!

Yeah btw, we were sexting today, and she suggested I blindfold and tie her to the bed when I come back... wondering if she's a bit kinkier than average?
