Does it matter? I don't think that Peter Jackson invented the whole part about the dragon taking over dwarf-land for the gold... it's just bullshit no matter how you spin it.

Explain it to me, that's the most ridiculous ever heard. Like 5 year old grade fable material...

Have you read the book? Judging by what you've written I'm assuming no?

I don't understand the CSGO community, the majority (or a very loud minority) seem to despise change.

Because you very well know how much technical CS is and when you have tactics you don't want to learn new ones. This happens with every Facebook update as well if you think about it

Not that I endorse those critiques, gameplay changes keep maps fresh and I think this is even better now that there's a huge attention on e-sport.

My comment was purely based on the art, since I haven't played the map.

Yeah makes sense, it's just that when he says that the world is generated sounds like it's done per instance… I haven't looked closely but when at some point he's close to the ground, pulls back then comes back down the patch he's on looks different.

Was watching the behind te scenes, so everything in the world is created on the fly… how the hell does that work with other players? I thought that this was working like a mmo, so ships seen in the other trailers were other players… so if it's not like that, they were showing the "discovered by" in the videos, that must be an mmo component. Even if you don't meet other live players, what's the point in "discovering" if planets are gonna be all different? Like same planet in the universe should look have a different habitat from player to the other?

And finally, looks like that if you pull out of the planet and come back (or turn around) everything gets generated again, sooo… awkward??

Attempted watching The Hobbit (1), but fell asleep three times so fail! :-/

Gotta say it seems to lack much more rhythm compared to LOTR, also WATTAFFAK is that shit orange smear all over the film?? That color correction is so, so so out of place. Costumes for the dwarves look utter shit: you can see everything is fake miles away, it's like characters at the local circus wtf?? And then only the dwarf prince has his actual face without any prop, so pops out like Viggo Mortensen was compared to the hobbits in the first trilogy, just is even more awkward.

Oh, and story is very random, I'm really really surprised by the worshipping the book has if Gandalf just randomly decides Bilbo has to go on the adventure… and why the fuck a dragon should even ever care about gold???

What did Tolkien smoke before sitting down for this

No, the fact that its a fully 3d interface with seamless play testing capability combined with a multiplayer workflow. You slap a few more features on to this bad boy combined with hierarchical instancing and it would easily surpass both Hammer and CODRadiant.

I think there's no silver bullet when it comes to brush building. I always desired a fully 3D editor before they were available, yet every time I look at some demos they don't seem to be that quick! I think best thing is to be able to do both. Especially I always return to imagine of my time in high school with AutoCAD, and have some of those priciples in an editor. For eg. I'd like to layout a planimetry only in top-dopwn and then just say "extrude [wall height]" (if you know what you are going for i think that's super quick, less distracting, more productive).I would like to have some principles from HTML entities, be able to define bulding blocks and change the wall height for all the walls on a floor with two clicks and a console command.

    Dunno if it makes sense.

Edit: I see it's kinda the same idea of Clankiller above me!

Alienware tend to have silly base prices/models that imo don't make sense ie: laptop starting at £1100 with an i3...

ASUS RoG laptops are huge slabs of technology. They have a nice slim one out, but it seems to be everywhere but UK.

17" laptops are also heavy. They may list a weight which sounds perfectly reasonable, but when you throw that in a bag and drag it around, it feels 3x as heavy. I know from experience taking mine to college and back every day for a year...

I also don't think that the hardware is usually that much better, most of the price increase is the additional screen real estate.

I would say that 17" is a desktop replacement through and through. If you need to be mobile, go for 15" and 14"/13" if real estate isnt massively important but I'm guessing from the nature of this forum the 14/13 are probably less useful.

Ye as I was saying in my last post, I noticed they don't seem to be updated to the latest hw! Looking at what Dux linked, I can't really think of going with those big brands atm. Although, supposedly they should have better build quality(?) I quite like the ROGs designs, they are supposed to dissipate better heat, haven't had time to find reviews -- I've been already quite put off by the fact that they don't have an official online store to buy directly, and configs don't seem to be up to date :/Concerning the size, just check any shop and on the 17" they start with higher specs or you can configure with the higher.

I don't have a desktop so yes, the idea is to have a workstation, only alternative would go mobile (14"), buy a large display to hook it up when home, and do as best as I can for those couple of days I'm at the gf. It's tempting, but since we also watch stuff on my computer and she has a small TV, kinda makes sense to just buy one thing and lug it around.

I know, but sometimes you can't do otherwise :/ although I'm still questioning myself if I should just get a desktop and give up working/playing when at the gf.

Only 700£? I take you're not using it for mapping?

On the train I was browsing and what I'm liking is that they have newer CPU+GPU than Alienware and Asus ROG that cost the same.
