  • What are you playing now?

Tuesday night I played through the whole Gone Home: really liked the semi-liberty to find clues to the final solution. It's really simple and linear, but I think the story is very well constructed/narrated.

Tonight I started Dishonored, played through the escape and been messing around the base of operations.

    what do you mean?

Since this afternoon I've been downloading a few games. When you start the installation Steam queues them, while I remember it was managing multiple downloads (updates) at once, just a couple of months ago.

Since when Steam doesn't allow multiple downloads??

Is this only happening for installs or updates as well? I can't find any option... last I checked in October when I was using my mum's iMac it was doing multiple downloads.

I wasn't able to follow this year E3 and I haven't seen anyone posting about this, anywhere!

How come? I found out now because of the promo video showing the 25 games coming to Xbone in 2015.

Well, just putting this out for when we get some footage.

I honestly doubt that. From the quoting I did back a few months ago I would have spent around 900£ for a good PC… then I wouldn't spend less then 250£ on a display, cos I would want something good and lasting so…

@clankiller ah! Now I understand what you mean, yes it would be cooler –and more correct– that if you cancel it resumes just with the bullets that are missing to load in.

Dod:S suscks even more then I remembered.

Gabe said in a presentation that their programmers can code 4000 lines a day.

It makes me wonder why the sniper is a single bullet reload animation, but when you cancel it you have to start all over again.

    Among with the other crap.

After playing to long I played the mod again and I ended up top fragger

    That game plays so nice.

I agree they fucked up DOD badly, the original game was my life back in the days! But among all things, not sure the animation cancel is wrong: I mean if you cancel you haven't reloaded, makes sense compared to the old CS trick of cancelling animations swapping weapons. It's always been a pain that CS came out much better in the porting. I still hope that Valve has some love left for DOD.

Be sure to share your experience with it (especially in regards to gamedev related stuff), I'm looking to buy a similar one in 1-2 months.

Thanks!Well I'm a noob, and I have only some Hammer literacy, so the idea is to finally publish something for Source and start learning the latest tools I will try reporting the performances on there.

Because as I said previously it's my only gaming machine Dux.

I would have been much happier getting a small form PC with 900£+24/27" display, but I would waste entire days when I'm off and visit my gf (we have mismatching days off most of the time, so she'd be at work).

I would have ended up spending about the same.

It wasn't a lighthearted decision at all, I still wonder if I should have just gotten the desktop… but my 2008 MacBook it's clearly showing the signs of time and I can't afford a desktop now + eventually a new MacBook…

    I settled for this beast: ASUS ROG G751JT-T7019H - 17.3" / i7-4710HQ / Nvidia GTX970 3G / 16G / 1TB 7200 + 128G SSD / BD Read / Win 8.1 64B

I was undecided with an MSI sporting a GTX980 4gb, but it had half the RAM and no blu ray, plus people where mentioning that MSIs get very hot.

I am in the process of buying a gaming laptop.

I would like suggestions on a couple of accessories:

    1. Headphones

    2. game pad

On the first one I'm ready to invest a bit of money, I know good headphones will last a lot and they are crucial to enjoy a good game. I am not updated at all in that regard.

I would like to get a pad, since I'm now used to play with it and I have lot of TPS and action/adventure a-la Tomb Raider in my Steam back catalog.

I love the X360 controller, but for what I know, the bundled wireless pad can't work with the computer. I am wondering if there's any word on compatibility for the XOne controller, or if there are better PC game pads you would suggest.

Should I bother waiting for the Steam Controller? Any indication of when that's gonna be out? I recently saw on an Italian forum that a revised design has been posted and will be presented at the GDC.

What's the difference between Deus Ex Human Revolution and the Director's cut edition?

For some reason I have Deus Ex from some previous Steam Sale for sure, but I also have the Director's Edition in my wishlist

I also own The Missing Link DLC so not sure why I did add the Director's Cut... probably just forgot I already own the game (never played yet)

I disagree. Just because it's there and he knows them doesn't automatically guarantee that Frodo would be a good ring bearer or that he can't withstand the power of the precious. No, Gandalf is old and wise and I believe that he does things for a reason. Hence, asking Bilbo was a calculated move on his part or so I reckon.

I agree, but in the movie there is no background to confirm that, it appears as a random choice, hence the movie is faulty. If the original story is the same, then the premise of the story is faulty. I think it's objective.

That's because he knows what Hobbits are capable of. It's the same reason Frodo is chosen in LOTR to be the Ring Bearer. No that's totally different, was kinda a forced choice since the ring was already in their family/house, also he knows the family at that moment and I think it's logic to say he can trust Frodo.

Anyway I have to admit that lot of things make sense at the end of the trilogy, and in light of The Hobbit being a kids book, the thing about the "dragon sickness" is educational, if you know what I mean.

Purchases are temporary. Microsoft have already announced they're turning off the 360 servers in 2016. Steam might not be around forever, but they're not going to pull this shit every generation.

I know this was supposed to happen but WHAT?! Isn't that a bit too early? What about all the Marketplace games I bought.Steam is not much of a concern, it's so in the long run and publishers can easily remove steam works and you can easily backup the games… but on console you need to buy additional EXPENSIVE drives >: (
