Cyborg in 2020 seems incredibly far away for someone who's been casted to appear first time next year.
Jeez.
Btw those Evans and Renner are getting some wind for being idiots on promo tour

Quote from BuddyThey do because they can
Well not really, they have made a deal with Bethesda... I can't believe those guys would let get themselves ripped off without any discussion.
Quote from EmMaybe this will bring good things on the table, but experience shows Valve isn't good at regulating and supporting things.
I totally agree with you, but I think they believe in the market self-regulating itself... people get what they upvote, if it makes sense.
I was baffled when a few days ago I found out that a dick streaming himself playing FIFA is making millions. Or "PewDiePie: $825,000-$8.47 million estimated yearly income after YouTube's 45% cut (23.9 million total subscribers)".
These guys are fucking playing videogames, it's abominable shit content, yet people watch.
So I guess that on Greenlight there's what people want.
What??? They're taking 75%?! I haven't read that last night (nor remember reading about the Valve games that offer monetization) it's absurd unless they keep like 20 and the most goes to original game dev.
But still I find this very quite unfair to mod devs, they're using proprietary tech and tools, assets, but still the work is theirs… and so many mods are total conversions! How is that fair, they're only using the tech like adopting any engine now freely available.
I'll never make it in time. This weekend I'm super busy.
Have spent time on this, but after creating a rough version of the rooms necessary for the introduction I've hit a slump and haven't been able to make something relevant gameplay-wise.
I like my idea though, I'll keep working on this to release it.
Quote from SjonssonI have to say I strongly disagree with the statement that this is the end of modding. If you think that this was somehow 'the first step' you haven't been following what's happened the last five (or more) years. This development have been pretty much foreseeable for a long time since the availabilty of game development and content for games via editors increasing drastically due to developers reaching out a helping hand for all users.

Now of course you could go all Blizzard over the EULA
Well really Gabe said this was the direction openly in some interviews time ago. So no surprises about this really. Not sure what you mean with your statement, but I wouldn't call the operation "helping": Valve knows better than anyone that custom content can create a steady revenue stream simply with people buying the original game to play the mod. That is helping themselves first and foremost.
In terms of copyrights, you have to read the fine print, like Cashed already reported.
Quote from TheGumaEither way, just checked out, the Skyrim blades and stuff they're advertising are around 0,20$ to 1$ range. It's not THAT expensive considering that people spend THOUSANDS of dollars for skins in CS:GO. Let's say a map costed 1$, I would pay for it if it looks good. If it looks meh, I wouldn't. It's still about choice. I'm sure modders who oppose this new feature will continue on with their lives, and talented artists will get some funds.
Of course they aren't expensive, but there's no comparison in the amount of work between a sword and a map! And if you were to price a map correctly, you would never get anything from it. And if your map comes at a price, it won't spread as much -which is the first reason you make a map anyway.Mappers here are at great disadvantage, players perceive that sort of content as something that must be provided, because it's the game's foundation. People are much more inclined in buying accessories, just look at the F2P market, is based on that almost; listen to a few presentations on Youtube and you'll hear more about psychology than game design.

PS: we also haven't even mentioned the fact that there's a refund option, how many bastards are gonna play an SP add-on in an afternoon and then claim the money back?
I know that on the long run, on the big numbers, quality will always trump on this cheap ploys, but it's still unfair nonetheless.
I think that due to the nature of mods, and the success of Humble Bundle and the likes, they should have just put the option of pay what you like.
Sorry to hear that DoubleF, but at the same time is a great boost of confidence I think! Keep working, keep applying ![]()
3 episodes to go to the end of Daredevil's first season ![]()
Looks better and better every time
I bet this guy thinks he scored
Thanks for sharing, yeah heard about the problems in the UK just recently by chatting with another fellow Mapcorean. Bites: I moved here thinking there were lots of opportunities. Well, definitely more than the deserted Italy...
I know how this story ends. Just watched this

If they bump the graphics up from the pc I'll be annoyed. And will demand a new port to pc XD
Of course I haven't worked with it, but my impression is that until now CryEngine was the only easy accessible engine with the best looks at the best performances (seems very scalable to me).
I haven't seen the implementation of terrain in UE4, just watched bsp making videos, but guess until now CryEngine had the best tools for making large environments.
People had started to adopt it since UE3 was aging, now they are out with a superior package.
I'm sure CryTek is working to bring the tools up to standards. Keep in mind they also catered specifically for non-gaming solutions as well.
Without wasting time to copy img urls, just clic and look at some new screens
I had a very similar feeling about it Thrik, but I replayed it when the episodes came out, then again for achievements, and I can tell you it just grew on me, now I feel I want to replay it from time to time, just like Max Payne.
I still have achievements to collect, but I also bought it on humble bundle so I want to play the upgraded version…
Gravedig: Polygon just released an exclusive look at what was cooking in Remedy in 2010, they have an Alan Wake 2 prototype in their hands: with video! (and a 30 minute interview with Sam Lake!)

The jurassic whisperer, who the fuck has come up with such a bullshit idea? Do they use script randomizers?
