Don't really have time to watch the walkthrough, can't be much bothered after the intro so skipped to a couple of points forward and... well cannot but agree that looks busy. But i'm most baffled by the absence of a visual identity like the previous had the color overlay. Maybe was too much, but this blends into any other sci-fi game.

Plus, still committed to the third-person switch that I don't understand the necessity at all. Please give me the option to play third person or first person, but automatic switch is annoying for what I'm concerned. First person cover is perfectly possible and works great in other games.

Ah, interesting thanks, didn't read about Big Picture (but wasn't thinking is WebKit, was referring to steam client and overlays for the community).

i like Big Picture, but found it a bit laggy even on my new computer; I'm sure can be improved a bit more for navigation, although I think standard desktop is the worst atm.

I found Doom's "new" gameplay quite fast, considering it was being pad-controlled. And maybe because I'm comparing this to D3, that I like it or not.

I think there are some core things that got into this quite right, but it's all a bit too generic, monsters especially aren't as characteristic anymore, Imps and Cacodenons especially. Also I don't like much the weapons.

On violence it's probably best to ignore the activist and let only the devs speak; but for the finishers I'm not convinced, as someone said they get old, and to make as many as possible they end up making some that take too long and are just a pain. Also I imagine player doesn't take damage while finishing?

I've canceled Amazon's and went with GMG… in the end I'll turn the savings to the Season Pass.

It's very annoying tho that they messed up so much with exclusive content for any possible retailer; was not clear if the PC version from Amazon would get the Batmobile skin like it is advertised for console.

I have to say, I welcomed Valve embracing Webkit and building a lot off of it, but in general doesn't seem to work too well (Steam client is slow, inconsistencies/limitations that get in the way compared to web version etc).

Wonder if lack of responsiveness comes from that as well.

It couldn't have been said better Sentura, agree all the way.

About Just Cause on the other end I can imagine the sense of achievement people had when figuring out how flexible the grappling was… that's powerful

The terrible UI is the same of CSGO if we are talking menus, by looking at screens on website… or was always like this?

i dunno, never liked this UI since they put it in CS. Haven't played much but I don't like it.

Because of pointing spoiler out, watched only half trailer, but fit the Ground Zeroes with the sales. Last year demo of the sandbox(?) interested me A LOT.

I hope in Ubi they're not complaining… what a surprise people pointing this out. Unless they are thinking "doesn't matter what they say, as long as they talk about it"

I'm all against hud icons showing the way, but not sure about the mazy levels.

i think that what makes old Doom great is non repeatable nowadays: it's mainly the animations, timing, response to hits. Doesn't feel you can achieve that visceral response with the 3D, it's crazy but duh, I can't find other explanation

Haven't thought about it, I thought that they would give the amount of content of a normal AAA game, and then what would be a DLC "in the package".

Good to hear that the game had such a long inception… it actually seems that they turned what I was expecting from Sniper Challenge into a full game. Partly sounds great, but really if you guys at the time did come out with additional content, I would have bought it.

I would like to understand if the thread running out is scripted -you die when story tells you- or if is part of the mechanic and that's the/one way you die during a session.

Reminds me of the theme of The Global Game Jam I participated, "extinction", and it was suggested to have games that simply limit the time you can play.

Agreed that too many platformers are borrowing the 2-3 mechanics that got a foothold in this generation (time, gravity, shadows)

Personally I have no problems in hiding loading screens, when it's properly done. Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist have very quick load times (you can skip sequences very early, whether in Max Payne 3 it was taking forever and was continuous interruption).

But there is a true point in the whole "training the player" experience.
Remember we could skip all that crap in -say- the old days of COD1 or HL1, where you had to choose to go through the bootcamp. Then the trend of "making it immersive" took off. But I don't blame the designers, I guess that testing showed people didn't know how to handle themselves? For example if I remember correctly in Just Cause 2 I didn't understand I could tether enemies to something until checked the achievement list and found there was one about that! It's just a matter of how you execute... like in Batman Arkham it's very clear when you are getting taught how to do stuff, but I think these instances are very well spread out, so they are not annoying.

Well I think everyone wants to see what the new engine can do for FPS/TPS, and see how the tools have improved for "traditional" map making... brushing away for a top-down game, I think this is a specialized editor just for this sort of game.

Although would be great if they get in line with the rest of the world and they provide a toolset that enables content makers to work on any game powered by.

    No topic? Shame!

I'm baffled the Hitman series is rebooted again, but I don't care much, very curious and intrigued to see what this is gonna offer... as the slogan teases the experience will be very vast (but I'm watching the stage demo and from the words of the IO employee I understand it's still based around missions, just a lot is gonna get added overtime. A big emphasis on multiplayer (leaderboards): sounds like they merged what I was expecting from the Sniper Challenge to a full game, even with hits available in the form of 48h events and only one shot *ahem* attempt at the target :o this will definitely keep the fans hooked. Unfortunately I won't have so much time to spend on it and be so anal... pity as for Sniper Challenge I did manage to get among the top ranking in Italy for a while.

    Enough talking :D
