I'm finding the transitions for dialogue/sequences with NPCs and the finisher moves quite annoying :/

Breach seems a good idea, stealth games need that valve to steam off, just the whole founding idea seems a more complex Superhot.

Well @Hourences, sounds like you need to get featured in House Of Cards…!

Jokes aside (sort of) I would point out that there are games with pixelated graphics that make loads of money… graphics doesn't seem to be the most important tick on the list nowadays.

I understand how you feeling and that this is painful, I worked on two mobile games that didn't get me any money as well, for almost two years, by the end of it. Of course we didn't invest as much as you, but when I moved to UK most of my "savings" after the conversion were 600£.

Anyway, what I want to get to, is that no matter how technically good a title is, sometime it just doesn't strike with the audience.

It was greatly "explained" by one of the guys I worked with on those games. When he tried a little and fun game I was testing for another friend, he reacted saying: "oh beautiful, beautiful… but is not my kind of game".

I haven't tried yours, so I can only speculate, but I'm afraid Solus falls in this "category". Doesn't matter that the color palette is bold, because is not as bold as a two-three color combination as other more stylised games, sci-fi theme is not the most trendy setting at the moment… you name it. There are so many reasons why people might not be reacting to it :(

wonder if at least being featured by Epic would help, have you contacted them, have they talked about it in a stream about UE or something? I've got interested in many games after seeing them in the reels Unity/Epic release after a conference.

Sorry, I hope this post doesn't come across wrong, I hope I really hope it will pick up and start rewarding your efforts. I'll post it in the Italian forum I moderate and try to contact the editors of the network/site the forum is attached to, which is the biggest in Italy. I'm not close friend but maybe they'll cover it.

    All the best!

    Congrats on the final release!

Don't lose hope, you might just have a slow-burner project in your hands :) flappy bird was on the App Store for 4-6 months before becoming what it became.

I'll share this where I can, is not much but hopefully.

I guess a good thing would get it in Humble Bundle as well.

Don't agree much with this, I would point out first that the whole area is quite open and doesn't lend itself to a great layout.

Anyway, the way we treat our heritage in Italy, blowing up the ruins would surely make many politicians and builders (often the same people!) very happy because it would open up new development areas!

  • VR for everyone, what AMD's dream mean for game developers?

True, for VR there might be tricks available, unlikely with multi-monitor setups.

For the "deal setup" I was just spitballing, the new ATI sounds great. My only thing is that a lot of games support nVidia specific features and I'm a bit a sucker for that. Dunno if ATI has any workaround, but this small differences are quite annoying. It'd be nice they all standardize these effects.

I understand what you guys mean and on paper seems straightforward. Might be the right moment to recycle or get bargains on 980s and build a PC for the living room.

Not sure if I misunderstood the comments, saying that for the price these cards are coming out, it wouldn't be convenient to buy a 980 today. Also consumption+noise+heat that always improves… so I guess I'd rather have a bottle necked card rely on longer by upgrading CPU when they catch up, unless this causes worst performances now.

Im still curious to understand how they manage to highly improve performances for multi screens/VR… in the end is simply higher resolution, but they were presenting it like they've found some secret sauce to make this happen. Unfortunately haven't had the time to watch the whole nVidia event yet

Thanks Chris for taking the time. Watched the first video and is very interesting to get your insight and not just the action.

I notice your UI of the editor is very crisp, is your monitor more than 1080p, or there's some setting to set in the configuration? Cos mine on a 1080p screen is less readable… dunno if it makes sense.

I saw the announcement on LinusTechTips; is it any clear how they are driving improvements mainly to VR?

Aside: saw a comment in an IGN panel about the new nVidia 1070-1080, and apparently they were saying it's only worth if you have 1440p or more. Didn't listened too carefully (multitasking) but sounded like performance at 1080p is not increasing much…!??

I'm not sure I understand one thing (I don't have the game): those contracts-challenges available only for 48h… will be available as well for players who buy the full package when it's out? I was thinking that it can be easily implemented as a DLC, accessible and then once it's started expires in the same time and fail conditions

All caught up! Great episode with set-ups for further developments.

Damn the goddamn High Sparrow! ? He knows one more than the devil.

In particular I just hope they're not gonna go down the path where everything happened is Bran's fault

Spoiler For him fucking around in the past.

He made Hodor what he was, he was able to distract his father after that skirmish and a powerful entity like the Lord of the deads, whatever it's called, can make contact with him.

After leaving him completely out in S5 I think his character is gonna be fundamental in future developments.

I find kinda cool that Italy is front and centre in the poster, even if it looks like it's the first place to be destroyed lol

I would agree about the floor, in the sense that my first thought was that you have a trim on the ceiling but the floor looks like a slab… when it's usually the other way around (players look at the bottom part of the screen thing etc).

But looking closer I would say that the wall feels overdone. I feel those "columns" are unnecessary and stand out too much, they would make sense in a fully metal corridor, but not on concrete. Also the slanted joint with both ceiling and floor feels weird to me…I would do one or the other.

Also the light on the left in the second shot, it's just copy-pasted from the one on the right… you at least expect in a corridor to have lights positioned all the same, and I would say that they should be positioned perpendicularly to the corridor.

That's the pace you expect to see your players play an SP map, then you see playthroughs on YT and face palm ? @Lemurr
