@AlexM yes I know those games are patched, what I mean is that when you patch stuff, you don't get it right at first, when you fiddle with rendering i expect you not getting it right straight away.

I must say in really disappointed with Quantum, I'm thinking of writing a review when I finish the game. I played quite much at the start then want really motivated to pick it back up. In two word, the game is: too prolix.

Yes, 2 maps weren't in the contest, so doesn't seem they picked just the competition ones to be awarded.

Also who knows they didn't give a grant-minus-prize value.

Even if was on top, what's the problem? These people have put a lot of work in it after the contest, working directly with Epic. And anyone can apply for grants, so if you have something looking good apply

I posted about the grants awarded to mappers in the UE4 topic the other day after the stream.

I only very quickly double checked, because I wanted to compliment our mappers, but from what I saw the grants have been awarded to mappers of the community, not the Mapcore contest

I'm not endorsing the release of broken games at all, but doesn't seem that bugs and reviews really affect sales as you would expect.

Every time these discussions pop up I always think of Half-Life 2: you all remember the game-breaking bug that was happening for Radeon cards? Something like 2 minutes in the game, comprising of load time, ye? That issue that was causing Radeon owners, gamers that got an HL2 copy along their cards, to see the game crash when they turned into the waiting area of the train station at the start of the game.

I don't remember reviews punishing that or sales be affected… I think the press is quite inconsistent in taking into account these things.

I guess that if you were to plot on a graph the sales, the first game had a long tail, while I'd expect to see a much quicker fall off for the new one.

That's thanks to the good reviews if course but more so for the word getting out of the quality of the game.

I don't think you can associate a drop of sales, week to week, to the reviews, good or bad that they can be, this policy doesn't change much imo, in a time where preorders are pretty much the most important sales. Who reads reviews is already a cautious purchaser… I mean, how many people really cancel their preorders based on reviews.

With the box set coming to a close on NowTV (stupid system ?) I had a Flash Season 2 marathoN in the last couple days.

Was really really a great season. Zoom was impressive and even scary toward the end, pity they can't makes the show a bit more serious and have a bigger budget (costumes look terrible WTF)

Ive seen couple videos on YT, the "insta karma, street justice" kind, involving latinos getting bashed. And if you read the comments there were people writing "yes that shit of a person totally deserves it, these are the kind of people that makes us look bad, these are the people that should be deported. I should know, I'm Latino so I'm right".
