Yes Mr Robot is good. Liked it although starts well and sinks a lot in the mid, then explodes.

Havent managed to catch up season 2 yet, wasn't in the mood.

Just started catching up with House Of Cards, I had not seen S4 yet

So you're saying there's not really any book that is fundamental more specifically for game/level design?

I mean I know it's a craft that brings several disciples together, and you get better only by practicing, but from the different talks I've seen or articles I've read, I thought there was starting to be some sort of literature, especially now that they do uni game dev courses.

Dont get me wrong, I know I would enjoy reading what you linked ;)

£10 on Humble Bundle, was an immediate no brainer (£11 on Steam).

    Bumping this.

Xmas is close, and as a person that doesn't care at all but has people asking what I would like to get, is there any good game dev/game design/level design book you would suggest? I have a couple in my wishlist: http://amzn.eu/aEZ2Q75 but I'm not sure if they are (still) relevant, good/worth the money.

    Suggestions welcome :)

Arcade mode is cool. I wish there was a "ghost" mode to see what the incredibly skilled people are doing to get the high scores. Unfortunately the sound bugged out and after a bit of play the weapons were not playing loud as they should.

Ridiculous that you have to use external, homebrew, tools for stuff that should run out of the box.

Bay got hooked up in doing actual events films… is he trying to fill in for Ridley?

Anyway I think this was very good, dunno why metascore is so low.

Is it working well for some? I think there are 4K videos on YT.

Also, this is the first time I hear talk about Dishonored next to Doom… thought they were using updated engine from the previous.

Wiki says this uses a customised Tech 5… so it's misleading comparing it to Doom imo!

    Quote from Bastion

7 hours ago, Bastion said: Absolution and the new hitman are separate from eachother. While I love absolution, it is generally regarded as the weakest in the series, so go for the new one first.

I know they are different but the thing is that i like beautiful graphics, and it's hard to go back and play something less visually impressive. Don't know if they have changed any gameplay mechanic, but for eg when after playing Blood Money I tried to go back and play Hitman 2 (I only played Codename 47 before) the mechanics where so different and (of course) too complicated to be appealing. So I never played in-between titles. That's why I'd rather play in release order.

same with Bioshock, wasn't that attracted while Infinite was appealing, but didn't play either cos I'm afraid I won't play the old one if I don't go in order.

I got some games on Halloween sale so probably won't get more games that I can't find the time to play.

I'm trying to resist buying Hitman, since I haven't yet played Absolution.

Understand what you mean… dunno as I'm not looking into the application process, I assumed there was an option as I think to understand they gave some money to community members working on weapons and items that are being used in the game. Not sure if that's happening, if is result of application or is arbitrary.

whatever it is I think is incredibly positive and very nice of Epic to support community.

If you're planning to contribute to UT only for money reasons, than I'd say you're in for the wrong reason and you should look elsewhere, because even if you could apply for a grant, that entails a selection process so no guarantees of getting any return.

Watched several The Walking Dead S6 episodes yesterday.

And on my own started Designated Survivor, which gains some pacing after couple episodes. A decent filler for me. The weirdest thing is that it feels very "gamey", as The President is regularly challenged with binary choices that, thanks to the cliffhanger editing, feels like a choice in a TellTale game…

Got to episode 8 of season 6 yday. This season feels a bit weird, pacing seems odd… feels like a lot happened in the last episode but is more that all the rest was quite slow and not so interesting. Atm the best episode for me was the Morgan thai-chi back story.

There's a page on the website... i'm sure is very easy to find.

From the YT stream they sounded like Epic came forward to support the mappers, and I think is great news for everyone because it's a recognisement of merit beyond anything I've seen in hobbyst game development (other than when Valve bought mods or rewarding with the Operations). And they were incredibly encouraging in saying anyone who thinks who has something cool, should apply. And if they don't get the grant, they are welcome to apply again when they make progress.

I totally understand what happened can seem dodgy or unfair, but I think we should look at the bright side!
