I'd be happy to donate you my old Samsung display that is collecting dust back in Italy @Bastion, but guess wouldn't be cheap mailing it.
Where do you live? Check Shpock/eBay for something cheap, a proper monitor is better than a tv

Some corners and hallways makes me think of Arkham Asylum ??
@Tisky i haven't read all your posts so I dunno if you tried already but… have you openly confronted her about these things that keep you hanging?
After all this time I would be in so much pain that I would really want to get her on the record.
If you tried then you got some real good advice in previous posts and I'd give it a go.
Marketing continues
Hey @marnamai, such a shame you never post here…
just stumbled on a play through of your latest release, it's awesome!
Oh wow, that's a cool town to host a game conference! Good partying the night ?
Argh I have a very similar theme in my drawer for when I seriously pick up UE ?
Well @[HP] they only showed a robot waking up so could have been anything.
I agree about the "indie triangle" of options, still remains that this demo was very boring. And I like puzzle stuff, but this looks too arbitrary. Also graphically that teaser was another thing…
I have been thinking of getting the ereader for plain novels, and leave shelf space and money for higher quality prints like comic volumes or artists book like the one you got @Sprony
Ahaha, feel very lame as I use PS a lot (not so much recently). The faux 3D perspective threw me off, thought was some sort of CAD or other design tool.
Don't think I tried much to sketch digitally a layout, pencil and paper feels more natural... layouts change a lot anyway. Also when using digital tools I feel like you are just spending too much energy, at that point seems like better to just work in Hammer: in terms of prototyping and blocking it is actually fast, as you can just throw in couple brushes with different textures to tell the height difference, and quickly create all of that by cloning.
Wow, that's A LOT of stuff @Minos, how long to get through that material?
I finished "The Virgin Way" by Richard Branson just coming in the new year (book about management is done in Virgin and generally best practices). I also read, overlapping to it, a minor sci-fi novel about mind-swap, but can't remember the title and I'm not at my home to check...
I'm reading "Videogame Storytelling" by Evan Skolnick (link) and I have also started the classic "IT" by Stephen King in light of the new movie. I calculated I need to read 10 pages per day to make it in time for release. I knew it was a thick book about 1K pages long, but I wasn't prepared to the weight this brick of 13xx pages has. Don't understand why they didn't publish in two volumes or something.
This is the kind of book that justifies the purchase of an e-reader, and I started thinking of sending it back and buy a Kindle if I can find a good used deal. I have been trying to avoid buying books in the recent years, trying to get through what I had on the shelf to then get e-reading, then gf peer pressure made me buy some books ![]()
Oh dear, I keep discovering stuff thanks to this thread.
Just reading a book by that author...
Just experiencing problems with the forum on MS Edge.
After tagging someone like this: @Sprony (typing + return)
the return and arrow keys don't work anymore/properly. Instead of just confirming the tag a new line is created, and if I press up/down the cursor doesn't move.
Seen some pics on fb @TheOnlyDoubleF, I imagine you had/having fun ![]()
@Tisky I would imagine that's very hard but just try to stick to it.
~ Have a couple extra days off due to the centre being closed, trying to sort pending pay and other life shit and looking at how to leave the job and move forward.
Also just reconnected with my aunt after a long time and the cancer attacked her again and she's unsure how much she has to live.
What software you using for those layout drafts? 8-)
Hey @Ridders, liking what you have. Is that CSGO or DoI? That must be Italy as well, can you tell the name of the place?
How to use open source to help your game development
Oh I've been thinking in the last few weeks I should get back to the project of finishing watching the whole series… I got so far as Ep 4.
Understand, thanks @Sprony. What's an example of that? I can only think of the poisonous headcrabs in HL2... which I think were a great implementation amping up the risks a player takes.
Otherwise I dunno, something like a cold area that slowly damages the player, poisonous gases... seem to fit the description. I would define them uninspiring but I don't see the penalisation factor... cos with current game designs, games tend to give player a way to replenish their health before the next encounter (cos game are too easy today etc etc).
