Is the movie The Disappearance, or something like that? I just remember having a movie titled like that in my NowTV list with him in the thumbnail, but is winter on that pic :D

For as good as it was for the character Sam, I think the way they resolved his insubordination was quite on the spectator's nose.

I wouldn't say they were going so fast --I think that description fits with this ep3: Sam story, Greyjoy, Jamie-- what annoyed me is the jumping all across Westeros to touch base with everyone. I guess it's fair/expected to catch up at start of the season and setup the main bits, but with only 7(!!) episodes in a season now they need to focus to two main plots and one side story at best and hammer it down.

Spoiled the moment for myself at the end of Ep3 when I asked to myself "do they know?" when Jamie pours a strong wine to lady Tyrell.

Uh oh, the other thing that is weird: from the trailers in both the old and new IT movies, the main character "Stuttering" Bill… doesn't seem to stutter at all 8| dunno if is just a trailer thing, sure hope so.

For the Unreal Tournament contest there were special mentions so I'd expect them to do here as well, but doing that with a representative award I think should be fun! Can also help/prompt participants to spend some more attention to a particular aspect :)

was better than the most recent one.

I haven't seen yet the original movie, but this remake prompted me to buy the book and start reading. I'm gonna be "that guy" and say I'm quite surprised by the stark difference between the portrayal of the clown in the movies and in the book, now that I got to a point where he's been described in detail.

Anyway, I found very interesting that despite not being advertised or explained in any way in the trailers, this is only "part 1", according to Wikipedia there will be another IT movie afterwards – you might know that the story spans between youth and adulthood of the characters.

@Noodle King of course you will do what you feel with the map. I think is great that you are seeing an immediate improvement implementing suggestions you received!

Because of the terminology you are using ("triggering, upsetting") I think you are reading too much into the feedback, is not like anyone said "I want to poke my eyes off" :D also apologies if I didn't add any particular suggestion, but all was said already, I just wanted to reinforce that it wasn't only those people thinking this early things.

Here I just wanted to clarify what I mean with contradiction. You are saying "I don't want to make big changes now", but you admitted you had comments about the theme already a long while back. People wouldn't comment on it now if you had worked on the theme when you were first prompted about it, or would be suggestions on little changes.

Apologies for dragging the reply, but I can't read the "art" argument. Personally I object to the "small sample of people who complain", I'm not sure where else you posted, but this is a forum with lots of professionals of the industry, I think their input is more valuable than gamers; people "like" aim_ maps with dev textures, so… draw your own conclusion.

What you do is Map Design, all the lighting and modelling might fall under "environmental art" umbrella, but we are still talking about architecture, placement of items of daily life etc: all stuff that ultimately has to be functional to be believable, this is not a painting, this is still "design" – maybe an artist like @[HP] can correct me if I'm wrong.

Best of luck with the release ✌?

Depending on how both teams are facing each other, they can determine if a FB was effective (as in, seeing a white reflection on one's face) or not and act upon that :D

I still don't think that's something they rely on, in the games I've watched I haven't seen people looking up until the round was over, and anyway the only I've seen looking at the other team was that chav of Kng from Immortals, trash talking the adversaries. Potentially yes what you say could work, maybe a dead player can do that, but an active player, in such a time-sensitive game… can't align a flash, look up and then rush a site.

    Anyway, lol

I recognize this, but at this point, I'm not going to redo over half of the map to create a nuke clone. The points you brought up have been said to me many times over the last few months, and I know they are valid points.

This is some weird contradiction :-| if you've been told for months to address the clutter you can't really say "at this point"... also not sure people that have spent time to accurately give feedback so you can improve, will want to do same in the future, knowing you are not inclined to make changes.

I dunno, is a real shame you won't polish this, as pointed out there are some good things in the map, looking at the screens I was gping to say that the theme is not consistent and there are main structures that don't make sense ("nuke meets mirage?") but taken singularly, I was liking certain angles/rooms.

You guys remember when this was shown after the HL2 tech demo at E3 2004. it was The Shit!

CSS actually came out before HL2 and looking back you could say that was technically the first early access game ever sold (?)

This and the allure of a Day of Defeat Source that hadn't even been shown totally made me spend the money necessary for the Gold version... I paid 49€ just to get it shipped from the US!

PS: gun models (in perspective) and especially reload animations are still nicer from in CSS than CSGO

Aztec was definitely popular, both in 1.6 and CSS… at least on public servers.

I could never understand how, see @grapen analysis.

I guess was because was one of the first maps available.

I had a CSS clan with no aspirations of doing big things, but I can remember the horror of clan wars when opposite team would pick Aztec. You would just clinch you buttocks starting T and hoping it would end soon. I was surprisingly good with the scout and Deagle was op, so I fondly remember my early round picks on bridge or jumping out double doors, but most times was just awful.

I think would be interesting if Valve remade Aztec, balancing it out. Setting is great/unique in today's landscape. There's Ruins(?) by a mapcore member that brings that back a bit.
