Anyway, it was a great match, Ronaldo was phenomenal, lets hope that he keeps playing like that. Pepe was great as well, he is probably the best centre-back in the world atm.

Ronaldo was definitely on his game, you could tell he was going to score some goals a couple minutes in to that game; it just felt like he was guarenteed to perform well.

Pepe is good, but there is definitely competition there: De Rossi (Italy), Dannie Agger (I forget which country...), possibly some others, but those two in particular come to mind.

I think quite frankly the Netherlands won't be a great threat internationally for another two world cups (6 years - ish); a fair number of their players are up there in age and evidently they aren't playing well as a team now. They need to bring in fresh blood, similar to how Italy is now; they're mostly young and given the next couple years I think they will be a force in the World Cup.

I honestly am a little miffed that Spain beat Croatia; Croatia ,while yes they were defending most of the game, created the better offensive chances and more of them. There defense was no joke, Spain struggled to create any opportunities, they might have come out of the game with 4 really good chances at most. Also, I think Iniesta was offside on their goal. I would have to see the pass again but initially I also thought Iniesta's pass to Navas was offside (not sure if Navas was behind the ball or not).

Anyways, Rooney should be playing tonight, that will be interesting considering his team has played reasonably well without him, I'm curious how the line up will change.

*Sigh*, this is one of those things that while somewhat aggravating to look into is amusing as well Funny Junk has issues.... and Oatmeal I've known for a bit now, I like his stuff. This is one of those cases that I can't believe doesn't just hit some screening process wall before being able to go to court. It's just asinine; a single government official could poke through this case on their own and be done with it, no need for lawyers and judges t.t

well it's 21:45 in ukraine, in germany it's 20:45 and in uk it's 19:45 (or 9, 8 and 7 pm). there's another slot at 7pm (ukrainian time, 5pm uk time) which is why they play so late. if you'd show any matches before that, all of europe would still be in their offices working.

Yea 7pm makes a lot of sense to me, I suppose I just don't tend to get out to live sporting events often enough to have thought about it (not nearly as many around here worth attending, and they're at least 2 hours drive from where I live t.t).

Yea, I appreciate 'indie games' and the neat ideas and stories they're laced with, but I dislike the attitude that games are not 'what they should be'. That kind of supremely artsy attitude some people carry with them.

Or at least go out with a good match, with some spirit. this game, WE change ronaldo's haircut

LOL, that surely would be a great feat!

I'm curious, the games are played here at 2:45 pm and I think you guys are at least 8 hours ahead? Are the games seriously being played at 10:45 pm ish? It just seems so crazy late to start a football match.

So Greece and Czech got through who would've guessed that outcome?

Greece has been a little bit hit or miss this tournament but they were solid in the last group match against Russia. Russia may have had the most possession but I think Greece earned that win; their defense was solid and they created a number of good attacking opportunities (probably more than Russia had).

As for the Czech game, I would have liked for Poland to win, but Czech deserved it; they owned that game.

TOMORROW: I predict that Portugal beats Netherlands (only just, not a blow out), and Germany beats Denmark 3 - 1 ish.

AGREED. Guiness is very rarely my choice of drink t.t I vastly prefer Waterloo Dark if I'm going to have a dark beer.

As for what to do in Ireland, some guy who wrote something I googled said to stay in the "Dublin, Wicklow, Athlone, Shannon" area. He also mentioned a 'crystal factory' that may be worth a look. I know I'd be hitting up some pubs so make sure to do that too

Yea, like the others said it is some very serious stuff, I imagine it would be borderline depressing if the prospect of what they're doing doesn't inspire you at all.

I really would recommend it though, it's real cheap on steam, or if you buy the full deal from their site you can get tons of extra footage which is neat.

Why all the hate against Portugal? I don't get why people say that our players are always whining, we don't do it any more or less than players from other teams.

Anyway I'm still confident that we will reach at least the semi-finals

And really bad result for Italy, even if they win the last game they might not get through to the quarter-finals! What a shame.

I'm all for Portugal getting through

True that it didn't work out too well for Italy, but Croatia is no push-over! Croatia is actually 4 places ahead of Italy in international standings, they played well; I think they earned the tie, although Italy appears to be the better team by a bit.

Oh, I saw this when they did that in theaters live broadcast. I really liked the movie, but yea it ends up feeling a little narrow in scope especially when you know (or at least I did) that all of the games featured are rather large successes as far as indie games go. Otherwise it was mostly a fun kind of 'people watching' movie, I enjoyed getting to know the developers a little bit and hear what they had to say about things as they went along. Will probably buy a copy to keep around some time.

I only caught glimpses of the 2nd half of the match between POR and DEN but it looked like those Danes are always good for a surprise. Looking forward to Sunday.

Yea, the Danes are surprisingly good almost every match; BUT, Ronaldo was really off in that game. If Ronaldo had played at all as well as he usually does he would have scored at least two more goals, probably 3.

I'm drunk and feel violated. It's college all over again What a humiliation. This Dutch team is nothing like the team that almost won the world cup. There's simply no heart.

The coach is benching the heart! It's Kuyt, I honestly think that if he were starting the entire Dutch team would perform better; he's just a really hard working, top quality player. Robben should stay on too but, they need to fit Kuyt in somewhere I think.
