Looks marvellous, I kind of like the bloom, gives it a really humid feel.

Yeah I used to follow that, such a shame

The buildings instantly reminded me of your scene, are you involved in this by any chance?

I'm going to wait for the complete mod to be released, so I can play through without a 'to be continued' cock block.

I hope you stopped off at the royal armouries museum, I could spend days in there.

Yeah ! It really looks better =) Maybe you could try to subtly darken the wooden plate of your door, juste the middle part to push in these volumes. For me, this process is a lot of testing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's crappy =x Maybe my suggestion will be crappy.
I updated previous post, darkening the middle parts also seemed to enhance it a bit, looks more like a door now compared to before, thanks!

This any better?

Oh I see it now! Doh, yes you are right it looks much better! Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go

Is there a way to do something like this in xNormal or will I have to use Max to render the new AO for the door?
-
Hi, I don't quite know if I understand what you mean, it looks like the door is actually mirrored there, however its just my crap texture work

I ended up using the AO as a template, then gave it some base colours, and over that added the grit and grime.

had quite a bit of fun making these low poly door frames, these are my first baby steps into this high poly baking business.
And yes, I know there is a ball sack in there

For the "mottled" effect it's because of my sharpen post-process effect done in UDK (which is quite bad). I should have disabled it. I hesitated to add some floating rocks/tiny island in the rest of the sky to complete the scene but since it was not in the model I was not sure.
As kikette said my work was not satisfying enough to allow me to pass in the next year. So I retake the current one. The work was to reproduce in UDK a scene from a model with some personalized parts.
They must be really tight there, got any refs of the model you were told to work from?

I never played Deus Ex, I only bought HL1 for the paranoia mod.

I had a feeling this might be like saying 'mum, dad, I'm gay.'

I personally never actually got to Xen.
I got pretty much right up to it, as I remember the Lamda shit, but then I got stuck and never continued. So BM:S will be the first time I ever properly finish Half-Life 1, and ironically enough it's going to launch with a cut-off point the same as where I got to.
Exact same boat as me

I bet you run around your NS2 map in fullbright mode with all the LOD's at their lowest and all the textures mipped down with your hud disabled and your FP weapon off with no shadow maps running on Win 98 and a giant frame counter reading 174 FPS because you're in 1024 x 768 on a CRT, obviously.
I read that listening to a Zelda boss battle soundtrack.
