If they don't release an editor they might as well give up right now. They're in it for the long haul. They want a e-Sports future. Looks at the previous Quake's and their mp maps. Most 'pro' played maps weren't made by id, they were made by the community.

When did you play it? Tuesday? Maybe we were even in the same room at the same time? :o Also got some gameplay captured. Gonna cut it early next week

Yeah, I was there on Tuesday for Eurogamer. I think I played it somewhere around noon. Got me a nice photo with a Stormtrooper as well

Too bad we didn't know, would have been nice to meet and greet.

Also, if you take a good look at Marc's intro and you examine how the story was written, it's not hard to see metaphors and frustration. This is a man who wants to bring closure to something he has worked on for a long time, only he couldn't do it the way it was intended. I think he put it online not just for the fans, but for modders to do with as they please.

I'm going to be really unpopular for saying this, but here we go:
After Team Fortress 2 went free-to-play and Portal 2 came out, Valve basically became a service provider who also branched out into hardware. Everything after that was mostly outsourced, including Counterstrike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2. Valve encouraged fans to design cosmetics for their games. These are sold on the Steam Workshop for which Valve gets nice a cut. So it's not like they have to do anything game related to get paid. Even the Counterstrike: Global Offensive Operations consists out of user made maps. They're not designing anything and I bet that the card game that no one asked for is outsourced as well.
Half life 3 turning out to be a big disappointment is a massive risk for Valve and a very real possibility. They revolutionized the industry twice, fueling the hype machine. Nothing will live up to it. So letting the money roll in and not risking their reputation is the safest option for them as a business. A business which now completely revolves around Steam and hardware. If they want they could buy up another promising mod and slap their name on it, but in the end, the original talent that made them have already left and if you're a designer working there for the past 7 years, I have no idea what you've been doing.
If you really want Half-Life 3, stop playing their games, designing maps and skins for them, stop buying on Steam and maybe, if the money is drying up, we'll force them to make it. But that's never going to happen.

So this has got a bit of hate online for the character models and I can see where they are coming from. Shenmue was never great with character models and animations but I guess after 15+ years and with new tech people expect more these days.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. I feel the show is getting a bit silly now though...
http://# Hide contents Gendry running to the wall (It seemed like they had trekked quite a bit North) and managing to make it unarmed, sending a raven to Dragonstone which is a long way away, even for a bird, then Dany getting the message and flying back up in time to save the day. I feel like this probably would have taken a few days and all she would have found was more corpses walking around. I know they tried to show a night had passed and maybe it was late the next day but it still seems a stretch.
But then, maybe that's what the NK wanted. Maybe he knew Dany was in Westeros with dragons and he wanted one so he waited until he knew they were coming to attack.
Still, was a great episode. Loved the banter between The Hound and Tormund.

Damn guys, it's Doc Hollywood, jeez!
Who's next?

Spoiler I'm still grieving for the death of the dragon. Seriously, I haven't felt this sad about the show since Ned Stark's beheading.

Just a friendly reminder that this out on Steam now and you can buy it with a discount. Let's show the world there's still a place for old school arena shooters!

I played this for a half hour or so and it really feels like a collection of mini-games. Could be done on deliberately for demo purposes, but it didn't feel that way. It was very 'gamey' and had a strong Ubisoft open world feel to it and not in the good way.
-
So I played the Starfighter mode. I didn't care for space battles to be honest, but I do now. It was quite intense en very well executed. Controls are smooth, the visuals spot on and you can buy Hero ships with your battle points or upgrade your ship with star cards. You also have classes in Starfighter and it works really well. I'm impressed.

So many reboots you want

Yeah man, I just have a real weak spot for id Software's legacy. I would love to see a Quake 2 made with the tools we have today. Plus, I really think Rage deserves better.

I really wonder if they are working on a Doom sequel. There's a team working on Quake Champions, MachineGames has taken over Wolfenstein and Doom already received a reboot. I want more Doom, but admittedly, I wouldn't mind a reboot of Rage either. The game had a lot of potential and I would love to see that done justice.
I wouldn't mind a Quake 2/4 reboot either, start fresh, call it Stroggos and kick ass
