The only studio I care about (no offence Kedhrin) is Relic and THQ's predicament troubles me a lot. I'll doubt it would have an impact on Company of Heroes 2 (luckily) but what about Dawn of War 3 and the Warhammer 40K license? Please don't let this fall into the hands of EA.

Because let's be honest. They certainly tried to change, but you can still count the studios they haven't ruined on one hand. Dice is the only one that seems to thrive under EA. Even the mighty Bioware is crumbling (if you believe the stories).

I always liked THQ as a publisher. I thought they were original. Bringing us games that weren't necessarily mainstream. Even though I don't care for most of them, that doesn't mean I didn't appreciate what they brought to the table as a publisher. I'll miss them.

Sorry for hijacking this thread Buddy! We should rename it to "Return of 80s Action".

Latest Red Band trailer of The Last Stand.

Agreed. They shouldn't need to do a remake and they could have named it something else. Still looking forward to it though. But I consider it a new movie. Remakes usually don't do the original justice. The only exception being The Thing I suppose (the 1982 version).

I've been sick at home this week so I tried Boardwalk Empire. I just finished the second season. I absolutely love it. If you like gangsters, the prohibition era, bootlegging and you can appreciate high production values and good acting, then this show is for you.

Congratulations man. I wish you the best.

After almost 3 years of marriage people still keep asking me how we're doing and I keep giving them the same answer:"Happily married. She's happy and I'm married".

I'm with Buddy on this. Complaining about that is simply exaggerating. So far I've only encountered "Your leaving the mission area" in the main story line. I'll admit this looks weird but I understand why so it doesn't kill the experience for me. My complaint regarding the story missions would be the huge contrast between how you play and how your are portrayed in the cut scenes (one man army versus wimp).

The saving complaint isn't really valid either. Yes, you do start at the nearest safe house but it does safe the progress you made (loot, animal hides, crafted items, etc). The game even explains this to you. So it's highly unlikely you run into this more then once. Besides, once you start taking over camps and unlock fast travel it really isn't a lot of effort to return to a safe location or fast travel to the point where you was.

Uplay on the other hand, fucking sucks. I wouldn't have bought the game if I knew this beforehand. I actually paid more for the Steam version which still forces me to use Uplay. I'll be sure to check this with future Ubisoft titles.

So in short, this is a open world game. There's a ton of stuff to do: Races, Courier missions, Poker, Sniper missions, Hunter missions, Wanted missions, hunting, crafting, finding collectibles (letters, statues, bodies), taking over camps, etc. The minor linear part of the storyline is but a small portion. You don't even have to play it and you can still do all the stuff I mentioned. How's that not a open world game?

  • What are you playing now?

I've finally finished Arkham City. The best game I've played in years. Not only did I beat the campaign, but I played both DLC as well (Catwoman and HQ's Revenge). I was so into it that I even completed all the side missions including the Riddler quest. Even though I hated collecting all the trophies (Youtube is your friend) it's definitely worth it for the Riddler rooms alone. This is the best Batman game to date. The only complaint I have is that HQ's Revenge isn't worth +/- 10 euros you have to pay for it on Xbox Live. It's too short for that.

I've also beaten the Halo 4 campaign on Legendary. It's by far the most difficult Halo to beat on that level. That's because 343 did a couple of very annoying things to achieve that. Weapons you throw on the ground sometimes disappear making it more difficult to hold your ground and camp in really tough situations. Friendly AI is retarded which sucks because in some missions you do depend on them. For instance, the huge crawler got stuck because it drove over two Warthogs. In another situation I was relying on the AI to drive the Warthog but it couldn't navigate around a rock. But the most annoying thing is that doors seal the minute you step through making backtracking impossible. So you have to do everything with the weapons you have or that you might find. Really frustrating. On the bright side, it's a beautiful game. The prettiest I've seen on the Xbox to date. The campaign is entertaining and I enjoyed it overall but it's the first Halo I don't want to play again.

Just watched the latest ep of Walking Dead! The music near the end of episode 7 really sealed the deal! LOL The Walking Dead is now officially an old-school zombie film. Love it!

Totally agree. We're going to get one hell of a mid season finale. That music, can't wait until next episode.

Obviously they can't take on the entire village so I'm really curious as to how this is going to play out. Also, how will the brothers react to seeing each other again and what about loyalty (the brothers, Andrea, Michonne) ? They did a great job bringing these different characters together in a situation like this. Fireworks!
