Let's get back on track and not derail this any further. I stated my 'legitimate' and constructive criticism about the story earlier (it was also flagged as popular) so there's no need to repeat that. The only thing stopping me from returning now is the lack of an offline mode.
It's not like nobody will play it on Battlenet just because we can play it offline. Just look at the success of Diablo 2. You know what killed Diablo 3 for a lot of players (besides a terrible story)? The problems coming from having to be online. Everybody remembers the catastrophic launch and we still hate server maintenance.
I tried to come back a couple of times due to all these positive changes, because I stopped playing a long time ago. Guess what happened on the random occasions that I wanted to play again? Server maintenance. No way too play. Probably dumb luck but I uninstalled the game all the same. I have no need for trading, playing with others or socializing within in this game. I'll do that when I play it at a LAN with my friends. Sometimes I just want to play on my own but I can only play when you allow me to play. That's not right. What wrong with a offline character? What's wrong with people having fun offline? Who cares about mods and stuff? The online component is still secure right? I will only be coming back for ROS if they add an offline option and trust me, I'll play it online too.
