After 2 days of trying every 'fix' out there I give up. Checking CPU cores, turning of Hyper Threading, custom configs, new drivers, running the 32 bit version, setting everything to low, making changes in the Nvidia control Panel, etc. It's a bit disappointing because after hours of Googling is has become apparent that this is not a new issue and was already present in the beta (with some very vocal people). Why Dice didn't address this before release one will never know.

Amazing person and life. People only underline the bad things he did, but that was custom in that time, he was just insanely good at it.

Next to the bad he did a lot of profound good work.

I don't think killing an estimated 30 to 60 million would be considered a custom in anytime nor would any amount of good work ever justify that.

Wasn't it RickD who said that anything quoted from Kotaku, as a legitimate source, should be a bannable offensive?

Setting the game to run as X86 in Origin fixed it for me, at least yesterday I was able to play a couple hours without these tedious crashes. Fun!

Thank you all, but none of it helps (all cores we're being used, closing Chrome did nothing). How do you change the above in Origin? I see no such option?

Some excellent recommendations guys. Oh and sorry for the confusion. I should have phrased myself better. I'm talking game news here. Bot you can share both industry and game news a like

Me and a couple of my friends who have Nvidia cards can't play it. I get constant frame drops on High. They drop from 70 to 20 without anything happening in the game. This even occurs in the campaign. Switching to low changes nothing. I can't even connect online because I get kicked due to lag I'm having. Checked with all my friends and the only ones who aren't affected run on Ati. I'm just glad I'm not only one. I hope they fix it soon.

    Hey Guys,

For nearly a decade my source for game news was http://www.gamer.nl. However, the site has deteriorated to a point that I can't take them seriously anymore. So I'm looking for a new site. I'm not looking for a Dutch alternative of course

Anyway, I only care about getting a daily feed about what's going on in the industry. New trailers, games, scopes, concepts, etc. Would you mind sharing your sources? Because we all know, sharing is caring

    Thanks

RY: I see that attitude still, in a lot of current Source, Unreal, and Unity work. But what makes me go, “oh you’ve been mapping for a long time,” is when I see a BSP box room, rotated by 45 degrees (or even 30 degrees) with custom modeled joins at the corners — “holy crap, 30 degrees!”

SG: There was this one trick I learned from some guys who worked on Fort Frolic from BioShock 1 (the mall level, with the crazy theater guy): that when they built it, they originally had these long hallways with doors leading to shops, but Ken Levine was pushing for them to change these 90 degree corners into 45 degree bends so that it’s not obvious that it’s just box to box to box. They came up with a really economical solution, without re-building everything at an angle: they just took the front wall and front door and sliced it at 45 degrees, so that you enter at an angle even though all the rooms and shops are still at 90 degrees, on the grid. It feels at an angle, but it’s not. Stuff like that comes from development experience of doing stuff sustainably, instead of doing things the hard way to make your life hell.

Been playing some Völgarr the Viking. Man, this game's a bitch! Super old school (including the difficulty) and no BS.

Makes me relive my childhood spending afternoons trying to remember enemies' placement and levels in Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

You know, those games where you actually needed skills (and to know the levels by heart...)

Wow! I'm utterly amazed by the amount of brilliant feedback I'm getting here. I absolutely love what you've done with it. Your overpaint is going to be like my bible when I'm reworking this area

Just one question: Do you mean something like the picture below with truss, support and stair frame (I did a Google)?

Damn it Seir, you are throwing too many terms at this noob

What's AO? What do you mean with overpaint?

Well, back to the drawing board I guess.

Honestly the metal walls were way better than the rock

    (your last post in wips)

But if you really feel the need to keep the rock, give those pipes some transition geometry where they intersect with the rocks

I post this to get honesty so thank you. Regarding the metal walls. I got a lot of comments about it being repetitive so I figured throwing a little rock at it would break that up. Your feedback is noted.

It's been far too long since I posted an update so here are two WIP shots of the final area. I haven't done anything regarding the lighting yet. I did however implement a lot of 'Seir' suggestions. More computers, pipes, rocks, more open, etc.
