My Euro 2012 proved that there are a lot of Football fans here so I figured I would do the same for the World Cup. I'm pretty certain that The Netherlands will be raped and not survive the group. So I think I'll go with Brazil unless another country impresses me. I never watch Football anymore but I always try to see every Euro and World Cup match. What about you guys? Any predictions?

In the past, the Core has been there for me. You helped me overcome work, you rooted for me when I my job and you celebrated when I got very close to becoming a freelance game journalist. Now, I need you guys again. It's what Arhurt said when he created this topic, I need motivation and encouragement.

That's a lot for me to admit and I feel pretty vulnerable right now. Ever since I quit smoking I've steadily been gaining weight. I used to be pumped up, full six pack and everything, but then I had an accident which ruined my knees. I gained a bit off weight after that but nothing major. I went from 83 kilo to 89 kilo. After I got married (4 years ago) I quite smoking. Over the past 4 years I tried several comebacks at the gym, diets, etc but they all failed eventually (lack of discipline). So throughout those years I went up and down and today I peeked at 106,2 kilo. Now I realize I substituted one addiction for another. I need help.

Normally I would go back to the gym, have another run at it, tell my friends (who probably already think, here we go again) and so on. Today, I decided that this method obviously doesn't work. Instead of immediately trying to run at full speed I should first start with crawling. So no gym memberships and extreme diets. No, I'm going to start with my eating habits. The first step is dropping all the junk food, chocolate, soda's, etc and try to eat more regularly and healthy.

What do I need the Core for? Well, I want to use this topic (unless you all prefer I split this into a separate topic) to daily post what I've eaten and take it from there. It would be cool if people hunt me down if I don't post, offer insights into what I'm eating and any other suggestions. I'm going to do the same with my friends and my wife. So instead of going all out with everything at once I'm relying on my offline and online environment for much needed help in detoxing from all this crap.

Due to huge response to this I immediately felt inspired and I've been turning my life around a bit. It hasn't been long of course, but there's a start. Trying to address my attitude towards eating is the hardest thing. Because this was basically me:

Anyway, I've been eating normal food. No sugar, no soda, no junk food and no chocolate. I've also been riding on my home trainer a bit.

I dodged a lot of bullets (that same ex secretly stopped taking the pill). Luckily for me, my sperm count is bad. If I would have had a child with her it would have been hell on earth. I know tons of stories like the ones you're telling Koko. It's messed up, especially since the children suffer.

No, luckily for me, I've found my soul mate and after years of trying I should become a dad any moment. We discussed these situations in great length and we're both on the same page. Whatever happens to us, we will not use our child as leverage or as a way to hurt one another. I know it's easy to say these things but I have no doubts about our commitment to this agreement.

Despite the hate the first one got, I liked it. So I'm looking forward to this:

That's good news bro! But you shouldn't feel better because others are miserable (karma). I understand where you are coming from though. My ex, who I lived with for 5 years, started dating one of my ex friends about a month after we broke up. They got married, they got a child and so on. I figured they deserve each other. But then my father (I live in a different city now) who has business with my ex friend, told me a little story. He told me that the guy kept complaining how lazy she was, how she didn't want to work and why he had to work so much on the side (my father sells old timers, the guy is a mechanic) to support her needs (as in party hard and do nothing). Which was one of the main reasons why we broke up.

Now here comes the cherry on top. She wants to divorce him because he's never there (uh fucking doh, he's working his ass off to support you). She went behind his back and already arranged a different house for her and their child. His heart is broken, she's still the same bitch from back then but now she doesn't have money so he still gives it to her. Both are miserable. However sad this is, especially for the child involved, I simply couldn't stop smiling for about a week. This is not revenge. It's punishment!
