You gotta be fucking kidding me? Yeah, that guy could certainly use some media training and learn to stop making promises he can't keep, but overrated? Hell no! Populous, Theme Park, Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper, Black and White and Fable would not have been there without him. That and the invention of the God game genre should demand respect from all gamers!

Impressive, most impressive. Too bad about it being Origin only. Maybe I'll get it on the consoles.

More info from the Reddit AMA.
QuoteCliff Bleszinski has revealed a host of fresh details about his newly founded studio Boss Key Productions and its debut project, codenamed BlueStreak.
The former Gears of War designer announced earlier this week that he was working on a free-to-play sci-fi PC arena shooter, and last night he took to Reddit to answer a series of community questions about the game and the people making it. While Bleszinski said he wasn't yet sure how the game would be monetised, he said he's determined not to make a 'pay-to-win' title and explained his decision to partner with South Korean developer and publisher Nexon. "I've never shipped a free to play game before," he said. "That's one of the many reasons why we're going with Nexon, they can provide server structures and a global peek into gamers of all types and guide us into a game that's more 'Shut up and take my money' as opposed to 'shaking you down for your hard earned cash". "So we'll experiment, tweak, tune, and most importantly, build a positive community around the game as we develop it". "When Nexon came calling I laughed," he added. "'The fucking Maple Story guys?!' And then I met Min Kim, president of Nexon US. And then Owen Mahoney, who runs all of Nexon. And I saw the direction they were going - Brian Reynold's new game, Robotaki's one, Splash Damage etc... and I spoke with all of these western devs who are working with them". "They all had glowing things to say about working with Nexon. They said they just let you build the game you want to build and when the time comes to see if you can monetize they'll help. When your developer friends vouch for a publishing partner like that, you trust them." The game designer said his new title is still "a fair ways off" given that Boss Key has only just acquired office space and furniture, but the studio is in the process of growing its staff count. "Right now we're around a dozen. Some folks have left Epic to join us, others from Call of Duty, some from Ubi, and we're actively flirting with more. Goal is 15-20 folks for the first year - find the fun first". "Then ramp to 60-70, ideally tops - tons of outsourcing. I don't want to work at a studio where I don't know everyone's name, and preferably their spouse's, again". "It'll be a slow burn for the first year but we promise to show you as much as humanly possible in the process." Asked which engine the game will run on, Bleszinski said: "My former employers and old co workers seem pretty excited about our considering Unreal Engine 4. It's wide open right now what tech we'd use." And on whether the game will be released on platforms other than PC: "PC first, and then we'll see. PC is where the comments generally are, the community gathers, and it's got that big global audience. In order to hit that global audience your game needs to look fantastic on the high end rigs but also run on a potato." Bleszinski also said "there will be an emphasis on story, but not in the traditional sense", explaining: "Weapons will have manufacturing corporations, players will have lore/history, and the world will feel there and lived in"."We also want to make live action shorts quarterly to help tell more about the universe outside of the game. If you're doing a Sci Fi IP you need as much of the fiction to come through in other mediums (and with lore) so people care about Plasma Rifle 3 or Player X."

Apparently they listened to Dux:
Quote"It's genuinely been great to see the reaction to The Crew Expendable and Last Survivor pre-order bonus content we announced yesterday and how excited you all are to re-experience those classic scenes from the original movie with our Alien. It's been absolutely amazing for us at the Studio.
"However, some of you have been asking if the two pieces of content are only available through pre-order or if we'll be releasing them at a later date as well. "So, I can confirm today that we do plan to release both Crew Expendable and Last Survivor at a later date and we'll have more details for you guys on that shortly."

I expected a lot more from the game last night, I fell asleep after normal time it was that bad. Might have been spoilt by the Germany game I guess
No, if your not Dutch, than it was a boring game. Not that we had much to cheer about but it's your team and you live through the suspense (boring or not). I would have rather lost with 2-0 than by penalties but so be it. Anyway, the game was locked, the battle was on the mid field, we didn't reach our forwards, lots of ball loss and the same goes for Argentina. In the entire 120 minutes there must have been 5 legitimate chances for a goal and most of them came from Argentina. That's saying something. So yeah, I think it's fair they won but we could have used a bit more excitement.
Still, like I said on the previous page, I'm proud of this team and what they've accomplished. After the disaster at Euro 2012 most of the world (including us) didn't expect them to make it through the group phase and now we're playing for third place. Which we'll lose btw because we can take a loss but if it's not for the first place, typical Dutch sentiment is not giving a fuck anymore. Which in turn will be good for Brasil. Anyway, lots of great moments and goals to look back on. I felt a little bit down but then I watched the recap of us humiliating Spain and I immediately felt much better

:cool:Netherlands lost again in penalties. It was in France, 1998, Netherlands x Brazil semi final.
Now, is Brazil going to sink, get drowned in orange juice or... ?
The penalty thing is gone man. We had a bad record but we won with penalties in 2004 and again against Costa Rica so that ghost is exorcised.

Bummer! But I'm proud of this team. Came much further then I expected. Performed well, humiliated Spain. Going home with our heads high!
-
That was better but very even. No penalties please. Win or lose, but no penalties!
-
Well Argentina certainly was the better team the first half. I don't know man, we look tired.
-
TIL my friends are brave! They decided to eat at a Argentinian restaurant, in Dutch apparel, just before the match. Respect!

I didn't feel like work today. Came in, didn't do dick. Immediately started surfing, did some interview stuff for the Core, went on a long break, took a 3 hour dump, surfed some more, chilled with some colleagues, finally didn't know what to do online, looked at the clock, one hour to go. Responded to like 10 mails, typing fast, copy pasting shit and using fancy words. Received a call from my manager that he really appreciates all my hard work and the enormous effort I put in everyday. Offered to finish something for him meaning I would do a bit of overtime (like 10 minutes or so). He was overjoyed and I had a really hard time not to burst out in laughter.
