I think not properly being managed when entering this industry is extremely toxic. It sounds like you were off to a great start... then the lead left.

I don't enjoy that old gen consoles hold how much work we putting into things back
I know its more art related, but sometimes thats part of the design and the magic of the experience.Design has improved less than art for sure. But the tools some studios are producing are making design not easier but more fluid and rewarding. From what I've seen and done in UE4 and what I've seen from Snowdrop, things are only getting awesome this generation.

We are human; there are ups and downs. I get into slumps quite a bit, more so when I feel like a challenge is missing. Right now that is the dilemma I'm in at work. I love coming in, interacting with fellow employees and friends but sometimes the work is mundane and not enjoyable. Working on side projects flexes my brain muscles and increases my drive to improve my process.

Been offered a job at Ubisoft to work on The Division which is awesome, but the pay is less than what I'm currently on, it's a 6 month fixed contract, and I would have to relocate. So...hmm...not sure what to do. Very tough call to make!
Is that at Ubisoft UK (reflections)? It's tough because its an awesome title, but if from UK you're not the main core designers.

its taken cs a bit to claw its way back to big purse tournaments. Glad to see it back because it helps the community.

I'm Ted, I lurked Mapcore for years before getting involved a little more. Currently, I work with Erratic at Digital Extremes working on Warframe.
I got into mapping with CS1.5 and mostly made aim maps and some awful de maps. My first successful map was de_season for CS:S and I'm flattered that it still enjoys competitive play. I've mapped a bit for most of Valve's games, but always consistently stayed with CS and DOD.

Definitely in the extreme Zombie fatigue camp, but a bigger issue from my perspective is that this will be competing directly with L4D3. That seems like a bad idea.
This is why I'm glad Valve took a break from L4D. I definitely felt fatigued and I've ignored all zombie games since, minus Last of Us

looks good for rendering in UE4

The old one will still be available on steamworks, but the new one will replace it as official. As for an operation that is valve's decision.

an Ex-Frankfurter i work with sent me that article. Real arrogance. What really disgusts me is the assumption that ppl can live for a month or more without getting paid...

I would consider purchasing! Just to look at the fantastic art work that was done for it

I hunted my installed games gcf, and could not find. It looks like he plays from Gary's Mod. Did you check there?

I don't know if reflections is in the video options anymore. But it was None, Cubemap, World i believe. Making it not show at all on low end machines.
But, take a look at the water shader. Maybe there's some reflective QC commands there
