Update on the low poly. I've finished the High poly version also, so I'll post some pics when I get to baking.

I'm making a Star Trek: TOS Phaser to replace the Zeus Taser in CS:GO. Here's the finished low poly. I'm working on the High poly still at the moment. Any CC's?

Oh yeah I forgot to post the finished high poly of the Henry Rifle.

I started working on an 1860 Henry Rifle. I still have to do the sights though. When I make the low poly I'll upload it to P3d.
I've been considering buying TurboSmooth Pro. Would you guys recommend it?
Quote from RedYagerDisplay MoreThere is a shit ton out there.
I have used these in the past and they were fantastic, I took a lot away:

There are a lot of great in-depth tutorials on that site
As for normal map baking, I'm new to that business myself and have only used Xnormal. Using max seemed too much for me, Once I learnt the basics of Xnormal I realised how simple it can be. When you get to that point feel free to send me a PM, I can give you a complete retards guide to Xnormal basics
Thank you so much, I couldn't find any good tutorials anywhere! ![]()
Quote from RedYagerDo you plan on baking detail from the high poly?
Those tiny rings on the grip and the grooves on the handle pieces really wouldn
't be needed, the normal map would do a fine job.
Yeah I was planning on that. Also does anyone have some good tutorials on UVW mapping/baking in 3DS MAX and texturing? I'm pretty confuzzled about this part.

Like you said, I'm going to give it a subtle curve like that.

I added a bit to the model. Any CC would be appreciated.

I tried making a Roman Gladius, I still have to skin it though.
I also made a pointlessly hipoly version for no reason.
Any CC would be much appreciated.

Here's an updated version.

Hey guys, I'm learning modelling in 3DS MAX at the moment and I was wondering if there's anything extremely wrong with this model I'm working on. It's not near finished yet but would you mind looking at the wireframe and tell me if there's any glaringly obvious problem?

de_insula_v1
Until Valve integrates CS:GO into Steam workshop or at least makes a menu fix grumble grumble... What was I going to say? Oh yeah you'll have to type "map de_insula_v1" into the console. (Minus the quotations obviously.)
I'm currently working on some updates for the map. If you have any suggestions for how I should improve the map, I'd be happy to hear them!

Oh crap, could a moderator move this thread to the work release section?
Quote from cityy[Blocked Image: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15072710/XonoticCompetition2012/Screenshots/21.jpg]Put another 1.5 hours of work into this one today - not been working on it for a while. It's taking shape however.
What game is that?
