Happy birthday!

Actually preorderd it quite some time ago.
http://sdk.crydev.net/display/SDKDOC21/The+River+Tool
This is how its done. If you want to make the river follow the terrain you are better off importing it from a modeling app.
To why it is "2D" my guess would be it having something to do with the water physics, but there are wiser folk here that can probably give a better answer.
Quote from knjDisplay MoreAnother day another FUCK UP!i've just downloaded BF3 beta for PC, and wanted to play Caspian border, and ZERO FUCKING serwers with that map on-line, WTF !?
playing on metro is like playing CALL OF SHIT, if DICE want to give us a try to the BattleField, why they throw map without any vehicles ?! that's just dump
BattleLOG ? - WTF ?! just hate web browsing serwers,
i've download beta for mostly 2 reasons:
1. Caspian boarder - no reason as i see now
2. check how the graphics are on PC and on PUSS3, and i must say that it is not as big of a deal, of course when you have ULTRA quality, then the textures are nice and shit, but when you play fast game, then who da fucks cares ?
i'm wont even start on how many bugs gliches i've found and i'm disappointed with this beta !
Just saying...
beta installed, installing the new Nvidia drivers.
Should we make a mapcore platoon?
Congratulations !

Fun fact: my work folder for the assets weighs in at 1.01GB and that is not including pretty much any of the .psd files ![]()
If any of you would like to be a part of a challenge and win some loot then the guys at Crydev are holding a competition:
Quote from Cry-AdamDisplay MoreHello CryENGINEERS!Early on last month, forum member atsest went ahead and started a community challenge for solids that we thought looked like a lot of fun. We'd like to expand on this and put up even more of a challenge to further put your skills to the test! Cooked up from the mind of our News Lead, Liam, this new competition will involve solids but with more restrictions to make it more challenging. The restrictions you face will be creative space!
The Goal
Your goal is to create a room made out of solids with the following dimensions: 14m X 10m X 4m. You are allowed to place windows in the room. You are allowed to place whatever you want outside of the room for background scenery but it will only be viewable through the windows (i.e; screenshots outside of the room do not count). The ultimate goal is to make the room as interesting, creative, cool, fun/funny, realistic, etc, as you can. The staff team will review the entries and agree on a room that they think is the best, as well as two runner ups.
Here's a quick example that Liam put together:
The Reward
Your reward will be fame and admiration among your peers! Well, that and a whole bunch of awesome Roccat gear and some Crytek merchandise!
- [*:2p50msv3]1st Place - Roccat Kulo Stereo Headset, Roccat Kone+ Mouse, Roccat Sota Mouse Pad, CryDev t-shirt and signed copy (by the Yerlis & the Tracys) of the CryENGINE Cookbook
[*:2p50msv3]2nd Place - Roccat Kone+ Mouse, Roccat Sota Mouse Pad and a CryDev t-shirt
[*:2p50msv3]3rd Place - Roccat Kova+ Mouse, Roccat Sota Mouse Pad and a CryDev t-shirtThe Details
To go over the rules in point form:
- [*:2p50msv3]Room made out of 6 solids with the maximum dimensions: 14m (length), 10m (width), 4m (height).
[*:2p50msv3]Holes can be placed in the room (wall windows, roof skylights, etc).
[*:2p50msv3]Either the CryENGINE 3 Free SDK or Crysis 2 Mod SDK Sandbox may be used.
[*:2p50msv3]Level will need to be available for download by CryDev staff if requested.
[*:2p50msv3]1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be judged by the CryDev staff team.
[*:2p50msv3]Competition starts today, Monday, 5th September.
[*:2p50msv3]Competition entries close Monday 12th September @ 4pm GMT.
[*:2p50msv3]Entries are to be posted in a new thread in theCompetitions Forum.
[*:2p50msv3]Entries must provide a screenshot with the wall/roof solids selected to show dimensions (see example below)Need Some Help?Never used solids before? Looking for a crash course? In case you missed it, community member Duruk put together a really handy solids tutorial and you can read up on that here.
Get Going!
That about covers it! You have a little bit over 1 week to make the most awesome room you've ever made and there's some awesome prizes up for grabs so if you want to be in with a chance to win you'd best get started right away
This thread can be used for discussion on the competition but please note, entries posted in this thread will not be accepted so please create a new thread for your entry!

This is an AI navved slow motion version of Dead Spawn:
I couldn't for the life of me get rid of the choppyness, it is rendered in After Effects :S, original footage rendered in Avidemux looks quite a bit smoother.
I also got to play some three rounds of it yesterday, was fun except the fact that i pretty much suck at the game :embarrassed:
The fact that it has so many access routes and threre were 24 players running around enabled me to sneak up to guys in all out mayhem (mainy the guys/snipers hanging around/passing the opposing entrance to the main area), which was fun. ![]()
It seamed quite solid all ready, no mayor crits on my part, i also would like to test it some more to be able to actually give some proper feedback on the map ![]()
Having the rocket fire its engines would definitely spice things up and give another extra layer of consideration in the match. one thing that wold be a must is to give a long warning (45-60 seconds) before it happens to really condensate the action. Maybe have the whole central area covered wit smoke while your att it to make things really claustrophobic and emphasize close quarter combat (this might bring some inbalance though in the form of turrets, spys and such).
Thanks for the positive feedback guys ![]()
If any of you want to run around it then you can get it from The Solid Challenge map pack (theres some other interesting stuff in there as well): http://www.crymod.com/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=71213
One thing to note though is that I used some hackery behind the scenes that is not so pretty ![]()
I cant check out the video right now, but AutoDesk Photo scene editor is somewhat similar, not real time, rather a cloud based solution:
http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/photo_scene_editor/
I got a really high detail rock model out of it, by uploading an image sequence extracted from a video.
*Edit" got the video to work and: wow that was quite amazing.
Here is the map that I made for The Solid Challenge during a period of one week, ended up challenging my self only and decided not to enter it for the final voting.
It is an Instant/TeaminstantAction map for Crysis 2.

I can vouch for it, it was quite awesome ![]()
