He's not talking about player choice in the sense of an RPG where your drastically changing the story line, he's talking about player choice in how one can approach combat. Between weapons, whatevr they are calling the equivalent of plasmids, and tears theres a pretty large amount of flxebility in how you approach a combat situation. More so at least than most first person shooters offer and, with the introduction of tears, more than previous Bioshock games.

Damn, i seriously regret not buying a mobo with Crossfire, the DX11 patch looks awesome just from those 3 side by sides.

As far as Steam being laggy, the games take a few more seconds to launch because Steam has to do its verifications or whatever, but once ingame theres no difference. Honestly I wouldn't even play PC games if it werent for Steam its the only thing that puts the PC on the same level as a console as far as community.

Also alt tabbing out of a game with a different res than windows is running in used to be a recipe for disaster in XP not sure if thats the case with 7.

I hope the tools suck so I can get it for PS3. My desire to build maps for it conflicts with my desire to shoot shit with my wife in coop mode.

OK so kinda lame, but I love educational games, so i would make a Heavy Rain/Indigo Prophecy style game where you take on the role of various (fictional characters) in a semi-fictionalized version of the US Civil Rights Movement of the 50's and 60's. The story would take place in a meta-town containing elements of Birmingham, LA, Chicago, and San Fransisco and the events that took place in those city's. The player would have to take control of multiple characters from different racial and social backgrounds, with intertwining story lines being forced to make tough decisions that greatly effect the relative success of the movement.

In the few months I've been digging through Mapcore I don't think I've read anyone say anything good about any engine ever. I'm left to believe that all tools are equally terrible thus equally awesome.

Just finished Metro 2033!An unpolished gem. One could nitpick and find A LOT of issues with it, but if you take it for what it is, it's a really enjoyable and atmospheric shooter.

I've been working on this one too, but I'm banging my head on the screen trying to get through the dead city, stuck at this point, with almost no ammo, 1 air filter, and like 6 of those crazy wilder beasts chasing me down.

On PS3 I'm replaying the Assassins Creed series backwards, about 2/3s through II. Forgot how clunky the combat is compared to Brotherhood.

360 I'm playing Red Dead Redemption trying to get my 100% now that I finally bought it back after it got stolen a year ago.

XBox, I'm working on Tomb Raider Legend and Jade Empire

N64 trying to finally finish Goldeneye on 00-Agent after like 12 years.

This looks excellent. That Carmack interview was great, I learned more about graphics tech in that 20 minutes than in the last 10 years. Has anyone seen what the mod tools are gonna look like? I've never done any mapping for an id game, looks like Rage would be as good a game as any to start.

The first game you could pretty much roll straight through to the boss with only the wrench and electric plasmid, although I did use the exploding buck in the shotgun a bit too. In the sequel it seemed like you needed to be a bit more conscience of your weapons and plasmids.

Honestly though I think both games were great, and Infinite looks just as good if not better. Does it look like more of the same? Yes, but isn't that the point of a sequel? Take the same core game play mechanics, refine them, change the story up and hopefully use some new assets and I'm happy.

I'd read in GI, I believe, that they really worked hard on the desert terrain and the sand effects, I was pretty disappointed to see that none of this was included in the videos.

Either way, game looks awesome. Day 1 purchase for sure.

Finally beat Singularity, So moving on to Portal in anticipation or Portal 2. Also clocking some hours in the Crysis 2 demo and trying to finish my Dragon Age campaign. Totally shelved Fallout NV when I got Assassins Creed Brotherhood, so I might pull that back out.

Game looks awesome. Project Snowblind was one of my favorite shooters (I know, DE1 fans don't like it) so I hope this game can live up to the DE legacy.
