Sorry for changing the subject from the great Meet the Pyro, but here's a video of ValveTime talking about the authenticity of the concept arts of HL:

*Thou shall rise from the dead...!*
I was going to ask you guys if MapCore already had a voice-chat thing, but then I searched and found this cool thread.
Are we doing this yet?
I know only a few of you in person, but you guys are really awesome and I would love to hear your voices and talk about interesting/ random stuff.
It should be fun!
...maybe EOT-reated stuff are allowed? (<- this was to grab your attention)

So I just found out that Dear Esther has been nominated for 2 categories at the 2012 European Games Awards - for Best Adventure Game and Best Indie Game! The winners are based on public votes, so if you're a fan of Dear Esther, or like pictures of Dogs, please get on over to their website and show your support!

Done. Good luck, Briscoe!

I know and like The Oatmeal, but I'm not a huuuuge fan.
I'm sure this case will yield lots of interesting comics! Can't wait.

Yeah, I didn't say that the freedom doesn't exist in non-basement game devs. Just that in indie is happens more easily and in every aspect of the project. It's good to note that there are indeed director/ leads who are fine with testing new game ideas.
Not only Angry Birds clones. There's a company who clones like every game that shows on top 10 (I think you know which one it is). Change the graphics, and "it's done". I don't think that is attractive in anyway, and it makes me want to vomit.
I agree that in a studio with talented developers the experience gained is a lot bigger that when you stay alone banging your head in a wall constantly trying to beat your own problems.

I love indies in the sense that I can freely apply my ideas into a full game, testing concepts that I find to be innovative without that boring obligation to convince a mindless director/ lead that the game proposal is worthy.
There is indeed that type of "blind" people who think that indie game scene is the salvation for the games industry. I don't see it that way. I think indie games and AAA games are two separate things and they are not mutually exclusive. There are people working in AAA games who also has their personal indie game projects, right? I think Bram is a great example (look at that cool procedural fps).
Indies provide more freedom and people tend to be able to show their vision and personality in their own creation.

Yeah hahaha..
that black fellah should review every game
I just noticed that there's an audio of Team Meat commenting the movie as it is played. I'll have to watch it again. yay!
btw, take a look at this article in Destructoid talking about the weird Fez guy and his "devil" ex-partner:
http://www.destructoid.com/indie-game-t ... 9538.phtml
Indeed in the movie we see a one sized story.

I got stuck in the blank level

I hope they release a edited-down version with only the Team Meat stuff. Although I guess I can just use the fast-forward button during the other parts.
Why is that? ;P

Yeah. That's insane!

Yaaay one more mapcorean Blizzared!
I wish you the best luck! You deserve it, Pinto!
Beware with Thiago and Bram (who else is there that I'm missing?). They might try to prank you on your first day by bringing you some "hot beverage".
QuoteDON'T DRINK THAT COFFEE!
And, I'm sincerely happy, not just because HP reached a (even) higher level on his career. But because it cannot be more proven that mapcore is made of the best PROs in the world.
(and I wish that I can prove my valor and include myself in this list, someday. I'm working on it...! #drama)

I just watched it! What a BEAUTIFUL movie! I mean it!
Reasons:
* Fuck!
* It's amazing
* fabulous
* perfect (!)
* really well edited
* well informative
* inspiring
* it shows all that pressure, love and passion from some indie game devs:
~> Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes (Team Meat), from Super Meat Boy.
~> Phil Fish, from Fez.
~> Jonathan Blow, from Braid.
There are extras with interviews of the Canabalt creator, Adam Saltsman, as also of the Aquaria creator, Alec Holowka.
I can't believe that I missed the chance to back it.
Make yourself a favor, and watch it.
