mmmmm
Day one purchase!
That's very insightful and I agree with it all.
If I happen to write more articles I will keep everything you said in mind!
Thanks ![]()
It's looking good!
I can predict that the bear is going to have a nicely animated fur. Is that right?
Just remember to compile the web version without the context menu, because this way we would be able to do the Fire Fart Attack in a cleaner way ;D
Quote from CampaignjunkieDisplay Moresuggestion: submit / pitch these theory pieces to Kotaku or Destructoid or The Escapist or RPS or your favorite games blog thing that'll pay you
- players like learning about craft
- you want to write something that's "generally interesting" / readable by anyone anyway
- if the writing is good, then these sites are likely to publish it
- if you have industry affiliation or credentials, then they're even more likely to publish (assuming that's okay with your employer)
- you'll get some money for your trouble -- I mean, very little, but congrats, you're officially a published freelance writer
- great thing to put on your portfolio, to be affiliated with one of these sites, it means "you matter"?
for example:
- Hamish Todd analyzing barnacle placement for Destructoid http://www.destructoid.com/untold-riches-…es-233589.phtml
I never thought about that. Cool!
Let me take this opportunity and ask this: do you think I should do something similar and submit those two articles I wrote (and linked above) to a game news blog?
And btw, great linked article.
Done. Disabled it from my browser and also uninstalled from my computah.
Was it really necessary? ;O
Check this free .pdf with amazing photos of the Earth, taken by NASA!

Great source of reference, and inspiration at least.
I did something very similar after designing two maps for that one Mapcore challenge with the Portal 2 Puzzle Creator. I have to tell you that both "Behind the Scenes" articles (here and here) took me a lot more of time than I had planned.
Although I really enjoyed doing that exercise to sharp my analytical skills, after writing them, including screenshots to ease the writing process and make the articles more interesting, and also creating a presentation of the level's layout + flow (maybe that's why it took so long!), I don't plan to do that again for every project because I believe my time could be better spent with practical work.
I posted the articles in my devBlog, linked each one in the corresponding project's page in the portfolio and in the Articles page as well.
Woot, very nice concept! And it seems to be really well executed as well. Good job.
This was the best part!
QuoteBUSTED!
You nasty bastards, wait for the real experience!
Californication is great!
I only watched the first two seasons and I need to watch the rest.
Watched these two on my flight back:

Really fun and nonsense movie, just like Family Guy.

I didn't like it much. To me it wasn't a Bourne movie despite the title. If we ignore this, it's a "satisfatory" movie.
Congrats, generalvivi! I wish you all the best ![]()
LMAO our picture turned out great! ![]()
happy new year d00dz!
I can't wait to watch this shit!
How many parts will this movie have? 2 or 3? I've heard months ago that Peter Jackson was thinking to make 3 parts of this epic damn thing.
What engine are they using? It seems really realistic.
Sorry for that, KFS! I'm sure you'll get a new job soon, keep up.
before it starts, please post here with the download link for the last version of the map
Heey fellow mapcoreans
In this november and december I'll be in Toronto, Canada. And from the last weeks of december to the first ones of january I'll be in Los Angeles, USA.
The main objective of my trip is pretty simple: I'll travel to study and perfect my english speaking and listening skills. Not that I think that my english is bad. Is isn't. But I always wanted to improve my pronounce and learn from native speakers.
As a game designer, I believe that a great communication is really essential for an effective team work. As there aren't many game studios in my country, I will very probably work in studios of another country (which is something that I always wanted!). So, this is a must-have skill for me. Amirite?
In Canada I'll be in a homestay (in other words, I'll live with a local family, awesome), and in the USA I'll stay with my lovely aunt.
I would really love to meet any mapcoreans around! So please tell me if there's someone around so we can do something.
Who's in (or near) Toronto/ Los Angeles?
I want to visit some game studios too. Do you think that is possible? I guess I should take this opportunity ![]()
If you work in any studios around, do you think that I could schedule some visit there? (or anything like that)
Also, what places would you recommend me to visit?
I can't wait to do some crazy snowboarding, lol.
I'm really excited!
