Like others have said, the engine doesn't matter that much. Both Unity and Unreal have their pros and cons. It's almost safe to say that Unity is a thousand times more user friendly. In the end, that doesn't matter as well if you guys feel comfortable when playing with Unreal.
I myself am a lot more experienced with Unity, but I don't think that not being an expert with Unreal would be a disadvantage for my curriculum, because tools are just tools. What really matters is what you can create with them. Game dev studios often have their own specific engines (sometimes a heavily modified version of an existing engine).
I believe that when Phoenixx157 said that he could model in Unreal but not in Unity, he was talking about using BSP (or whatever is called that technique to modify geometries in Hammer)... right? Well, there are some plugins that enable the same feature in Unity. One of them is ProBuilder, developed by the same guys that created the ProGrids. One of the devs is a member of Mapcore (sixbyseven). I've been using ProBuilder extensively during the last three days (50 hours~) and it's very easy to use. It has some bugs, but it gets the job done.
tl;dr: I'd choose Unity because that's what the programmer is more comfortable with (C#) and the modelling could be done in Max, Maya, Blender etc.

That's the entire picture man...

no need to hide non-existing hover hands (didn't know such thing was important, haha)

FINALLY a woman here at Mapcore. Welcome, lady!!

Good luck on the contest!
sixbyseven, would it be possible to make a better discount on the plugin? I really want to start using it to test a few levels in Unity, but the current price (75-95$) is way too high for what I can afford at this moment.
I'd be happy to use the free version and I don't mind not having the "NoDraw", but it lacks the ability to "Apply custom textures" and "Rotate and Scale Textures" (which are very important for me atm).
Thank you!

Really? I had no idea. I didn't buy the game yet. So it's even better than that...

I saw Dean Norris (Hank Schrader) at Disneyland on January. He was exactly like the character!
Same yellow polo, same badass sunglasses, and he was calling someone (who I couldn't see) using the same voice (duh). That's how I was sure that he was the one.
So don't be surprised if we see the gang cooking meth at Disneyland and Hank finding out, lol.

I get a big smile on my face every time I see something about this game. This live action was full of awesomeness!!

What a great video! The guy did some good analysis about the timing in your map. This is looking very good.

I'm so looking forward to purchase it!

Go 3Dnj! you can do it!!

I really like this idea too, and I think it's WAY better than making the recruiter read just another cover letter (it must be really boring if we consider the amount of applications they receive). I think the video length is appropriate too, but I don't have any "authority" on this subject as I never officially hired anyone. 1 min is ok.
One small thing I'd suggest is add a thumbnail/ small screenshot of your portfolio in the end of the video, as it may help to invite the recruiter to access your folio. Also, make that logo a hyperlink (using that youtube feature), so it's even easier to access your site.

I'd like to do something similar to apply somewhere, gj!

Hey folks!
I'm doing some studies for my game's art direction, and I'd like so receive some feedback.
Bear in mind that only the ground, the background art and the main character are visible. There will still be a few props and gameplay objects on the level.

and another version, but without clouds. It's cleaner but I dunno... I liked those clouds up there /. </uncertain>

What weird boner do you guys have for purple/ blue? seriously, what's there of attractive behind painting that landscape, beautifully portraying a house in the countryside using only that color?
I would strongly suggest adding more color variation.
My 2 cents.

This looks so good! I only watched 2 mins of this video and forced myself to stop to avoid the spoilers. I want this game!
