I hope I'm not as disapointed with this as I was with FarCry 2. Don't get me wrong, I liked FC2, but watching all of the trailers and supposed features that were going to be in the game... I was extremely disappointed with the final product.

Regardless how it turns out though, I always feel like doing some game art when I look at this game.

Any thoughts on the game so far? I think the art style fits this type of Zelda game fairly well. Not pure cell shaded but also not titled too much toward realism.

Not too sure if I feel like using the remote control as a sword, they better have the option to go oldskeewel. I don't even have a wii though so if I do end up getting one, it'll probably be because of this game... maybe.

WTF! Every time I open that damn program, my bank account gets smaller!!!!

OF COURSE I'm going to buy Dragon Age: Origins Digital Deluxe Edition + Awakening for $54...

How can I save $2000 to build a new machine if I keep buying games all the time?!?!

... I hate you Steam... I really, really do...

Those E3 demos were great! From what I've seen of the game so far, looks like you'll be spending a bit more time with the marines than the first one which I like. More people = more chaos

I'll be waiting for uber HD Ultra quality PC screens!!!

Maple tree in the works, using a Crysis trunk texture at the moment (haven't unwrapped the trunk yet, still need to create the root system for it.)

This is mainly for you folks who work at Crytek but anyone in the know is encouraged to reply. I've been examining the normal maps created for the vegetation in Crysis, I was wondering how they went about creating them.

Did they create a gray scale displacement map in photoshop with a trusty tablet or something completely different? I'm leaning toward the displacement map option but I've yet to try it with my diffuse textures.

    Any tips are appreciated!

Sculpt is for a lowpoly that I'm going to get to eventually. You tree looks good but you might want to make some of the branches a bit thicker so the silhouette carries farther. Does source support intersecting geometry? If it does, you can simply have the branches intersect with the trunk to save tris if that's ever an issue. It's also quicker in my opinion.

Working my way through the Eat3d Fountain DVDs. I need to start getting into the habit of sculpting more often:

Try flipping the triangles on the area that has the odd shading, might have something to do with that.
