The trailer linked on the first post never loaded for me, so I just hopped on over to gametrailers:
-
Trailer looks cool, though I'm not too sure how appropriate the "Bioshock" title will be.
-
The only parts I'm planning on baking are the columns, the fabric, and the fancy designs on the brick areas of the building. Perhaps it would be better to simply model out the columns in their entirety for the lowpoly?

Going to buy it tomorrow, the first one better be good!

You can crouch, it's not an extremely low crouch but it's in there. I actually didn't mind the driving too much, there's definitely room for improvement though. I only tried the simulation setting, will see how it is on normal next time I play.
I wasn't planning on pre-ordering it but seeing how most of you liked the first one, I think I might go ahead and buy it from steam now.

I liked the demo, was really short but I liked it. Love the art direction of the game, very clean and a nice change from the usual. One thing that bugged me visually was the foliage, it's kind of... "fuzzy" for some reason, looks strange. Once I got used to the shooting mechanics, which reminded me of Brothers In Arms a little, I found that the game is pretty fun. Especially with a shotgun.
Starting fights with random dudes is always funny as well, too bad you only get the 12 minutes to be outside in the demo. All in all, I think it's going to be an awesome game.

Never even thought to check it out on google maps, thanks twiz

I would imagine so, Tanuki, it's making for some odd symmetry in certain places. Think I've got the 2nd floor sorted out for the most part, though I'm not sure if the arch is completely behind the top portion of the second floor. Right now I have it crashing into it... Looking at it closer it does seem to be in back of the second floor.

FUDGE YEAH! I only recently started paying attention to this game and it looks like I'm going to be shelling out the dough for it. Although I'd like to wait for the price to come down, unless the demo is so awesome that I needs the game as soon as it comes out.
-
Thanks deceiver, I know the brick you're talking about. A bit too contrasted compared to the rest, will need to lighten it up a bit.
-
I'm still working out the second floor a good deal but your observations will come in handy. At the moment it's more of a block out of the shapes and proportions.
-
Finished the stone wall tutorial PhilipK put up, fairly happy with it so far, although there is a seam in one area I need to fix. Possibly a bit too specularly/glossy right now as well.

That's the plan, I'm just not sure if sculpting the cloth out would be ideal if the cloth tool would give me the same result but quicker. Only way to find out is to try it I guess

-
Got some more work done on it, hoping it'll be an interesting piece when it's textured:

Would using the cloth tool be a good idea for the plastic under the sign?
-
It looks like he's constantly moving forward without the help of his legs/arms. Almost as if you created the animations and then just used the move tool to make him go forward. Try and get it so it's his arms and legs that are propelling him forward.
-
Think it may be the spec that's causing it to look blurry, I saved it out as a 256 from a 512 using the Crytif exporter. I also noticed the holes after I uploaded the screen, they defiantly look a tad on the dark side.
Here's the diffuse dirtied up a good deal (maybe too much?) and the AO removed:

Might make it tileable eventually. Although I'd really need to tone down the amount of grunge on it if I do.

Quick concrete texture using some of the awesome tips in PhilipK's tutorials:

Early stages of a butcher shop I'm creating, fairly uninteresting at the moment, but all C&C is still appreciated

Linkin Park... GAY!
I'm getting sick of this real footage crap for video game "previews". I want to see the game, not a live action movie.
