It's like a really bad caricature of Duke... I know that Duke is supposed to be somewhat of a caricature of 80s action heroes, and that worked really well because you felt like an even badder ass version of Schwarzenegger or something. But throwing crap? I mean c'mon, throwing crap at bathroom walls, da fuck?!?

The levels remind me of Duke3d and games of that generation in that they're open and empty. Back in the day, that was due to hardware and technology restraints, there's just no excuse in 2011. It feels like they made a test level, threw some ai and weapons in it and called it good. And What the hell is up with the mine-cart section, there's virtually no user interaction, why even include it?

Unless the public demo (if there's one) is better than this, drastically better, I don't see how anyone except for "hardcore" Duke fanboys would buy this.

Why don't they just release the demo publicly instead of pulling this gimmick bullshit!!!

I've gone my entire life not playing a Tomb Raider game...

... I'll continue the tradition with this installment as well

    Can you post a wireframe?

What ever textures you have plugged into the material (diffuse, spec, normal, etc), said engine will downscale the textures by uses their mipmaps as the distance from you and the mesh increases. No need to setup a separate material for LODs.

I was thinking about doing a North Hollywood Shootout mod/map, this sounds like it would be fairly similar to the actual event. I'd be down to help out with models/textures if you get it to that point.

As it stands now, I have spurts where I really get into this with SC2 as I did with SCBW. Granted I totally suck(ed) at both games and I watched more than I played, there's just something I find more captivating about a match in an RTS game than a FPS. It also may have to do with how difficult a game like StarCraft is. You can get fairly good at CSS if you play it enough, StarCraft requires you to play just to keep a certain skill level, getting past that skill level is another thing. To me, It's just easier to recognize how much dedication and skill a SC2 player has than watching some other game.

The last time I was in a clan was around 6 years ago playing America's Army. I loved that and every one on the clan kicked some serious ass. My friend who was in the same clan (whom I know in real life) ended up starting his own and going on to be one of, if not the best clan for AA. Last time I talked to him (maybe a year ago?) he was still super into this type of stuff, though the game he focused on was COD4.

Being focused on game development has made me really out of the loop when it comes to this stuff now. I enjoyed the whole clan thing but I don't think I'm a dedicated player like I used to be. Plus it's not really appealing to me anymore. It was great when I was 15 and didn't have to focus on much else but at 21 and trying to get my foot in the door, competitive gaming isn't something I pay attention to. It's mainly a matter of priorities in my situation.

Not visually (though the bullets are teh same), I was talking about the gun mechanics. Least that's what I thought of when watching the clip.

Release date is set for summer of 2012. I played a crap load of ArmA II, it's just a shame there's such a small niche group of player for it. I'm hoping ArmA III doesn't end up with 2 servers worth of people due to lack of player months after it's release.

Assuming there's no stretching, the wavy bakes are common on round objects such as this. To straighten out some of that waviness, adjusting the cage prior to baking can help.

hmm i was aiming for broken handle look.

Ahhh, it does make sense Adding more of the handle back into the mesh might be better for easier identification. It'll probably add more interest to the silhouette as well.
