    Very cool! How did you go about doing the mirroring? I am thinking of working on an SC2 map myself, but I am wondering if there is an easy way to mirror sides, or if you just have to do it by eye.

    There's no real mirror function or anything (though I haven't used RTS editors before, so I don't know what a function like that would look like). You can copy-paste-flip terrain, which is what I did. Once that is done, the rest will have to be by eye. Maybe there are some tools I don't know of, I haven't used the editor enough to be completely sure.

    dux: thanks for the added criticism. I received some other concerns for the main as well, so I'm going to see if I can change the main a bit and upload a new revised version.

    I'd have it so there is only 1 entrance to the base, I know there's rocks there, like blistering sands, but they are the most annoying thing ever. Looking at it more, it appears to be the turtling terran's dream. Just plonk some siege tanks and bunkers at the chokes and pow. I'd also change the high yield with the natural in the centre, makes more sense to have them in the middle, harder to defend but worth the income they give.

    Thanks for the feedback

    Wouldn't removing the rocks make it even easier to turtle? My initial thought was that having two entrances would make turtling more difficult and sort of remedy the easily defend-able natural expansion. I had anticipated that this was more of a "mid game"-oriented map because it's fairly easy to defend the first chokes while the mid-expansions are pretty difficult to defend. Air should also have an easy time sniping (esp siege tanks) near the main cliff.

    I actually had the gold minerals at the middle expansion to begin with, but I thought the other spot would be more difficult to defend because of the distance from the main. I guess this doesn't matter as much as I thought. I'll change it and give it a few tries.

    I have never seen a game with more mixed reviews. Reviews seem to score anything between 1 (Destructoid) and 9 (OXM). I think that's very interesting, despite perhaps it being unfortunate for the developers. I wasn't planning to buy this game prior to reviews/release, but now I think I might have to.

    I must say I thought battle.net would be better, considering the effort made to integrate it. I don't know if I'm just looking at the wrong places, but, some concerns;

    1. I can't accept friend requests and see what people are playing when I am in-game (e.g. campaign "hub").

    2. I thought the achievements from WoW and SC2 would synchronize or something? I at least thought I would be able to see more information about people's characters through battle.net. Right now, battle.net doesn't seem to be more than a cross-game chat client. Maybe that's all it's supposed to be.

    3. The chat window is cumbersome, even more when used in-game.

    oh, and yes; the game is nice. The campaign seems huge. I've heard it's about 16 hours? Here's an awesome easter egg.

    I highly doubt that Blizzard would ask to see your passport/visa just for to verify your name on some internet message board.

    I'm not saying they would request that for the purpose of confirming you for the forums. I'm just suggesting they might one day ask you about confirming your account details. Some people would think twice about faking their name, as they couldn't confirm their ownership in case Blizzard asks for it. They sometimes to do this for several reasons: payment issues (change of card, bank rejecting the payment) or account suspicions (e.g borrowed/bought/gifted account) and so on. The chances are slim I guess, but considering the amount of time people invest in these accounts they're probably not comfortable using a fake name.

    just out of curiosity...what would have stopped anybody from using a fake name?

    Blizzard occasionally sends out confirmation emails where you have to confirm your ownership (if something happens to the payment or they have some other suspicion). It would be difficult to prove that you are "Glenn Beck" without any id (passport, visa) to go along with it.
