isn't this game supposed to have awesome, high resolution textures? i thought that was the whole idea of "megatextures"?

I'm trying to like this game. I'm enjoying the combat more, but the game still doesn't keep my interest. right now it feels like i'm performing maze algorithms, trying to figure out where I can navigate between the invisible walls. maybe it's just this specific area that's not that good.
i don't get why i'm not enjoying this game. i usually love RPGs like this.

I think the animation clashes. Plus the faces don't look nearly as detailed as in other triple A titles.
it's noticeable here and there, but some of the actors do a really good job at it where you couldn't tell at all. actually, i'd say most of them do. The faces aren't as detailed as in certain other games, but the animations are unmatched. I'd take a poorly detailed face over poor animations any day.
i expected nothing from this game and i already consider it one of my favorite games. really, really good script too.

pretty sure both of those books are available at book stores. still, it's cheaper to buy through amazon (at least for scandinavians).
bought this;

i died 6 or 7 times during the dragon prologue. i didn't understand the combat system and the interface was never properly explained to me. having the character catch fire didn't help much either. and that bed scene definitely gave off a try-hard vibe.
still, looking forward to playing the rest of the game. heard nothing but praise over the game (...except this thread).

i'm playing ff13. i don't seem to get any exp or anything (cp?) after killing enemies. should I just ignore enemies until that part of the game opens up?

going to look ten times better when you add some lights. would be cool to see the next result if you choose to do that.

^ and Armadillo (one of the best documentaries I have seen). I think I found the movie through this thread actually. so... kudos to whoever that was.

Personally, I value the ability to freely talk about the game 90% of us just played together than to prohibit discussion due to people who a) Haven't played, but b) somehow can't avoid the thread about the game they haven't played. Sure, unwanted spoilers thrust upon you suck, but nobody's pulling a 4chan and coming up to your computer with a bull horn yelling out snape kills dumbledore to you.
Really, though, plot 'spoilers' don't really mean much for a game that tends to use its plot twists purely as punchlines or parodies (of itself, or other games). I linked a screenshot I took of a funny wall thing to a friend of mine, without realizing he hadn't reached that level yet (we were playing SP in unison after going through coop together) and he was pissed. But then like halfway through the game I guessed the final plot twist to him (correctly, as it turned out) and we both just laughed about it.
There are several ways you can do that. If you don't like spoiler tags, why not just create a new thread with a spoiler warning?
About the spoiler thing; It's not always about the actual "spoiled" part of the game, it's rather about the feeling of being spoiled parts of the game. People like new, untouched, unexplored stuff. Being spoiled contents of the game can take that away. If I'm aware of a plot twist that is going to occur before it does, then I won't be able to fully immerse myself in that part of the game because I'm/my brain is just waiting/trying to figure out when/how that spoiled part is going to happen.

probably the only game i really care about for a few months and I've already managed to get two major plot twists spoiled for me because of idiots and internet. no place is safe from spoilers, not even mapcore. I should have just played the entire thing when it was released.
