pretty good.

3rd one definitely. too much stuff disturbing the text in the other two examples. the camera angle and the lasers create a pretty cool/interesting effect. maybe remove/photoshop the orange goo thing.

doesn't show much of the level though... maybe you should make a few more.

that's good, because it gets a lot better with every season. season 4 > season 3 > season 2 > season 1.

i really like the Cinematic Lighting ENB, even if it makes the game look a bit too colorful/saturated sometimes.

bought arma 2 combined operations. should be everything i need for DayZ?

never played arma before and probably not going to, but heard so much praise about DayZ i figured i should try it.

been watching a lot of series/movies the past week(s):

* Rewatched season 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

* Started rewatching Breaking Bad to prepare for season 5.

* The pilot of Person of Interest. Apparently it's created by Jonathan Nolan (writer on Dark Knight). seems ...decent at best

* The Great Happiness Space. Documentary about people (mostly prostitutes) who spends money in japanese host clubs. Some of the guests spend up to $5000 - $10 000 per night buying champagne, time with the hosts etc.

* Kill Bill. amazing. vol 2 next.

* True blood, first episode of season 5(?). it's still shit. in fact it's worse.

^this and i agree with pretty much everything. Why does so many love act 3? it's the most shit one by far. The setting might be exciting (it's not), but it's so repetitive, ridiculous (azmodan) and has horrible pacing. I feel like vomiting after the succubus tower.

and why is the writing so awful? I just don't understand. Is it because the guy who writes it (Metzen?) has been in Blizzard since forever, so he gets to do whatever he wants? or do they actually pay people to do this? isn't it difficult to get a job at blizzard? why would they hire someone who can't write? can someone explain?

bad writing in video games doesn't surprise me and usually doesn't bother me, but when it's this bad and it's coming from a company that could afford better...

decent gameplay. starts getting very interesting story-wise about 1/5th in (after the white phosphorus attack).

and the loot sucks. gg.

Spirited Away.

found the movie to be very visually impressive and extremely cool/interesting lore-wise.

still, i thought it was pretty boring overall. I think it's because the story structure didn't make any sense to me. In the middle of the movie it loses all direction and suddenly it's as if the protagonist just gives up and decides to live in the spirit world. the main goal (leaving the spirit world) seems almost abandoned when the story starts to be about other stuff like the stinkmonster, saving haku etc. The brain needs something to work on while you're watching a movie, like trying to figure out how the protagonist will achieve his/her (main) goal. How are you supposed to do that when you're given no hints as to how the protagonist might go about doing that?

not sure what to think of this... apparently the screenwriter wrote The Darkest Hour. here's what some people think of it;

found the 2/5th part of the movie pretty dull, but the rest made up for it. the amount of action they managed to pack into the end of the movie is ridiculous.
