Arrr, didn't manage to finish roof and electric meter today, but here's how it's looking so far:

Here's the wire for the chair as well, was kinda a bitch to model since everything had to be connected together, but I got through it eventually. Almost scrapped it and restarted at one point cause wasn't too happy with it.

I'm gonna steal your idea HP =P...well others have probably done it, but whatever, I saw yours first !

So yeah, this will be my sketchbook thread and I'll post any WIP shots and eventually final ones of 3D models I'm currently doing. Would love to get everyone's feedback on anything!

Today, I just started texturing the models I've done for my demo reel in the last month. I'm starting by this house, this is just the base clean texture, still need to dirty up the rock and such (windows and such are done though). All the nice details and complete texture should be done by tomorrow if all goes well:

    Quote from Jetsetlemming

I actually really like the Xray engine and I hope they stick with it, now. I don't think there's another engine on earth with such wildly diverging minimum system requirements and requirements for maxed out features. The Call of Pripyat benchmark runs like a dream in Static Rendering on my three year old "meant for homework only" low end Dell with integrated graphics. I've got COP sitting on my desk right now actually, waiting for my Clear Sky game to end. Shouldn't be more than two days. It's tempting to skip ahead but after I finish CS and COP, where would I turn from there for more open ended atmospheric super russiany FPS? Huh? Nowhere, that's where. So I'm gonna try and savor it.

I remember reading somewhere that for STALKER 2 they'd be going with the latest CryEngine?

Why do Russian developers make games with such great atmosphere? Stalker and now Metro 2033.

Speaking of which, did anyone else post in the old DoD Forums?

Really? Oh noes. Still wanna get everyone and their loyalty though. Let's hope the characters I like less die then haha.

Well, animation "experience". I'm more of a model/texture guy, I can do basic animation, but I'm not to comfortable with my skills in it =P. But since I saw a bit of everything I know how to do basic rigging, animation, sfx and such. As much as I don't like the too generalist approach to my school program, it really does help to see all the different facets and understand them better. My specialty is really modeling/texturing though and I've been working on improving and focusing on it since this summer.

Started playing it last weekend, playing it lots actually and I absolutely love it. The characters are really compelling and really makes you wanna keep them alive for the suicide mission. So, I'm really doing all of the loyalty quests and getting all the upgrades needed, hope I don't lose any of 'em! Overall, it's pretty polished, encountered some pretty crappy glitches though where sometimes you'd be in cover in a corner and you'd magically jump up to some crate or spot in the level you can't get down and sometimes let's you run around in spots you shouldn't. Only solution was to load a previous save. And on the PC side of things, feels too much like a console port, like in some menus, can't use scroll wheel and such and gotta use keyboard or click. ME1 was a better port. The combat is much better though, much more streamlined with an easier upgrade system, easier to pick up. I found managing everyone's upgrades and weapons pretty tedious in the last one.

Hey everyone! My name's Jobye or deceiver here on the internet =P. I've been talking to Furyo the last couple of days about the industry and such and he recommended today that I join up on Mapcore, post my work, get to know the community, etc. So, I'm doing just that! I used to think MapCore was exclusively for mapping hehe. Been perusing the threads and different forums and it looks like I great community of people, I look forward to contributing and getting your feedback ! I know a few people such as Furyo, GL, Jed and such, though I do recognize a few other names (jean-paul and such) from my time on HL2World where I mostly lurked and posted a few times hehe.

Other than that, I used to be active in the old DoD Forums (that's where I met Furyo, GL and Jed), especially in The Mess Hall. Ever since it closed down and merged with the Steam forums, I've been posting on the TMH forums El Capitan opened up, feels more like home than the Steam Forums =P. Currently, mod-wise, I just got on the Ham and Jam team as a texture artist and I've been on the WWI: Source team since this summer as a prop modeller and texture artist (we just released today btw, not too proud of the result as I would have liked to polish it a lot more, but eh, I got overriden). Last, but not least, I'm a 3D Animation student at Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne (in Montreal) on my final semester, should be done by the end of May!

So yeah, that's that. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

(Reading back on all this, it looks soo formal, bleh.)
