I thought it was pretty good. A little bit more macho and action-ish and somewhat less of a thriller compared to Pitch Black. But definitely better than the horrible sci-fi/fantasy combo the second movie was (although it definitely had enjoyable parts). I really just wish they never introduced the necromongers and that flying woman (elementals?) and all of that weird fantasy shit. I just like to pretend that never happened and I erase those bits from this movie as well, luckily that was pretty short.

So yeah... I actually thought it was a pretty decent installment in the series, a small change in tone but nothing as major like the difference between the first and second.

Not gonna lie, it definitely could've had somewhat of a better story, it tried to mimic Pitch Black a bit too much but falls short. I guess I might just hold it in higher regard because I was expecting something like the second movie so I was pleasantly surprised. If it had to stand alone it wouldn't be great, just good.

I preferred the first on way more. I liked the introductions, and it seemed to focus more on the journey rather than action.

The next on is likely going to be even more action packed .

Anyone else noticed that the music was a bit sub par, nothing really wowed me.

And Evangeline Lilly is hot as always.

    Still a good watch though!

Nice spotting! Thx for helping out a bro Christmas spirit right here!

And of course... Once you click "buy" on something you keep on clicking so I ended up with FF VIII, Super Meat Boy and Far Cry Blood Dragon (even though I haven't touched Far Cry 3 in my library yet)...

When you already own everything on steam, steam has nothing left to offer.

This pretty much. Last couple of sales have been tough on me, got everything I want already. Might buy FF VIII if there's a sale but if not then I'll wait till I actually have time to play it (never)

If the zombies are more intelligent and responsive, and also don't see you as easily. Basically reverting the game back to early days of the mod where you could sneak around crouching through a city rather than having to crawl then I might still get it early. Cos those loot things sound very nice

I always played the game as Diablo anyways, loot, loot, and loot some more. It's all about the goodies for me I just don't want the zeds to get in the way too much, but just enough that I need to think about things a bit. Perhaps I'll watch some videos but I'm afraid Dean will just fuck me over again in the end and make it frustration-simulator rather than a fun looting experience.

That's the nice thing about the game though, it's what you make out of it.

It's not the arma 2 engine, it's made from a branch of the arma 3 engine.

Nope: DayZ will utilize the Take On Helicopter engine, which is a branch of the Arma II Operation Arrowhead engine Real Virtuality.[4] The engine is being heavily modified, including code from Arma III.

It's sad to hear these negative responses but it was what I was expecting :s Too bad, so much potential... It could've been really awesome but I'm not really interested in a second buggy experience. Might wait a couple of months and see where it goes, ya never know.

Does that mean you haven't tested the map yet? I mean, redoing stuff is part of the job. Just test it, redo the navmesh later, get something temporary running.

You should be able to playtest the map without all the bells and whistles, props can come in later? It's ok to upload WIP stuff...

Any chance of a playable version soon-ish or is it not in an Alpha stage yet? Looks pretty promising.

Btw I'll be at the school next Friday for a bit to talk with Regis and just get a tour of the new premises, been 2 years since I stepped foot in anything DAE related If you're interested we could try setting something up.

PM or send to my gmail.

It's not the graphics tech that is impressive, its actually quite mundane stuff that unreal and cryengine have done for a few years now. Its the absurd amount of detail in the scene + all the effects + all the "non scripted" things like the car door being pushed.and the car getting shot and having a hundred holes made in it. Those together make me extreme skeptical, especially considering Ubisofts significant downgrades on WatchDogs since its first reveal.

Exactly this. In this day and age it's less about the tech and more about the art direction, attention to detail... And basically manhours.

I want it to be true but I'm very skeptical they can make it look that good everywhere in the game Then again... It's Ubisoft and they're known for throwing an insane amount of people on a project so who knows.

The last of us, Halo 4... Miracles do happen

I wasn't really amazed by the tech demo from a technical point of view either, doesn't seem all that special. But the art, holy damn keep it coming!

I too tried playing The Witcher 1 before the 2nd came out but it's pretty clunky

Also the game lenght turns me off :s It's about 41h average to clear the Main Story only!!

Ain't nobody got time for that! So it's still sitting in my Steam library... Another steam sale I will likely never finish.

He's great in Community, but he came across as a real dick in these awards. In fact, thinking about it, in Community he pretty much plays himself haha.

Or the other way around? I thought he was just playing out a role IRL. Seen some interviews with him and he wasn't a douche there...?

What people don’t realise generally is that we actually have different universes on different machines. When it will release, it will be the one that we will release, but until then every time we boot it up to make changes, it’s different, right?

One thing that I found in an article is that they're gonna generate the universe for you, once, and ship that Which is a bit sad, I want to generate it every new game, minecraft style.

Wachowski's are back. I'm not watching that trailer, it's enough for me to know it's a sci-fi and it's being made by the Wachowski bros, but here it is! Can't wait!
