Capitalism and the American Dream at its best. I think it's a pretty rotten dream, might've worked in the past with startups but nowadays it's very dystopian megacorporation-ish. Then again, I don't look into economics for that exact depressing reason so I know jack shit about it... Might not be all that negative as I make it out to be. Oh well, back to being naive and ignorant ![]()

That's a very hard and interesting question since a lot, if not most of it depends on player preference.
One thing that I would say almost everything hates is frustration which usually happens if the difficulty curve is very bad, no tutorials, no proper progression in terms of level design. That sort of stuff.
A good game is a game where everything just sorta fits together and works in a coherent way, where all systems support one another. Bad games are games that stand out because X or Y is weird. Compare it to UI, good UI is unnoticable, bad one is screaming in your face. I feel that a lot with good games, you don't really know why exactly it stands out from the rest, there usually is not a specific feature that jumps out, it just sorta all works. Very magical, I suppose

If I'm immersed and loose track of time, it's a good game, simple as that. Achieving that is very hard though and requires all disciplines to work together.

China Rising wasn't made by DICE LA, there likely was a lot of help though but the main level artists/designers were at DICE for at least 2 maps that I know of (and maybe all)? It's hard to know these days when a lot of EA studios chip in for the bigger titles.
There's a lot of misconceptions out there between DICE and DICE LA
Some even think BF4 was entirely made by DICE LA. -
I'm with Vivi on this, 10/10/10.
Watching movies is easy, but books... Takes me 2-3 weeks to finish one
And that means sacrificing doing anything else during that time so the counter for those would stall. -
GAGE weapon pack #02 released

Not sure if I need new light machine guns in my build but I might try it out this weekend!
Oh... Knives!

Never ever have I clicked on banners for indiegames... I can only speak for myself but I only ever hear about indiegames through word of mouth or news websites. If it's a succes then obviously it'll pop up on the sales list in steam as well for more exposure but at that point it's already in the pocket, right.
So can't really give you much advice
Just don't create a game nobody wants to play if you depend on it financially!Spread the news on forums and wherever you can, but make sure it's relevant and doesn't feel "spammy".

The vertical climbing is eerily similar
More so than the combat I think. -
Is the Heartstone website a replica of an older website of League of Legends or am I imagining things?

There's a lot of buzz out there, gonna check it out

But but... anonymity! I guess that's the main reason insta doesn't post anymore cos they can always trace it back. Come back Magnar, just create a fake account and post drunk bullshit again!!

I very much doubt they would delay (or sit) on a patch just to save face. Give the developers some credit ffs, they'd want to get it out the door asap.
I think it took them 6 months because they didn't have (want/no budget) resources on the project, it might not have taken 6 months when they were still a full team but you gotta stay realistic. Nobody's gonna ramp up a project for some bugfixes or changes so it's totally warranted imo. Sure you can call that PR talk but that's just how projects work.
Seriously you guys sometimes...
Sure they screwed up, but when they finally address something you still find ways to complain.Be happy that some devs spend time on this. Then again, it's still a shitty game

The last bit of MGS4 is amazing, but I can see why some people are turned down by the story. It's the same reason I can't get into a lot of anime cos it's such unrealistic bullshit. But for some reason in MGS it clicks and I can take whatever is thrown at me

I doubt any other game will do the same as MGS did for me, it's not just about the games... Part of the charm is growing up with them and understanding them more after a replay when you get older, it's the nostalgia man
And I sorta like the pseudo-psychology human nature stuff in there, makes you think a bit.Unfortunately I'm "grown-up" now (lol really?) and I doubt I'll get that nostalgia-impact again. I don't think there's a way to rationalize that sort of stuff... Those feelz man! It's like the conclusion to your childhood or something...
BRING IT SO PSYCHED!!

It's more about logic gates imo, AND/OR/NOR, etc... When scripting you usually create systems like that and it helps when you can implement that without having to stress test for bugs. E.g. logic skills help create robust systems that won't break.
You usually think like this: This needs to happen if the player does that but if he does something else then deactivate another thing, UNLESS... this happens, etc etc.
Physics? Never had to use those, neither did I have to use statistics. I guess statistics might come in handy if you're doing gameplay balancing but I doubt someone on the lower end of the food chain would be doing that full time.

Not really sure how much PR they're actually getting out of it though... I already forgot which company or movie it was for. But I still remember the girls on the beach.

Oh like this you mean:
Haven't worked out for 2 weeks cos of holidays. Today I ran again, it was horrible and I felt like dying. I also ran much slower than usual.
I picked up weights as usual but noticed I had lost strenght and ended up dropping the weights on my foot.
Please kill me.
At least that's how I'm expecting it to go
I guess that's why nobody's posting xD -

Don Jon. Was really good imo! I love movies that poke fun at rom-coms

I didn't see a trailer but I was lead to believe it's about porn addiction but it was more about unrealistic expectations... And not only in porn but also unrealistic romantic comedies, was quite a surprise that that theme was included as well.
