Afaik EA does, in fact, embrace community modifications, at the very least the devs do. It depends on what you mean by embrace though... EA hasn't gone out of their way of making it happen cos it costs money to convert the tools to be used by the public, that much is true I suppose. And obviously hacks or injectors (for Battlefield) pose security risks so they are banned as well.
But I'm fairly sure there is no policy in place that prohibits developers from shipping with tools... But since EA is paying for the development, resources usually don't get put on creating these tools. Someone has to go out of their way to make it happen.

There's at least one EA (partners) title I know of that eventually got an editor, although only about a year after release, and that's Battleforge. Another one is Mirror's Edge, even though that was a hacked editor. Regardless, the devs were really helpful in giving the community the knowledge to use that editor.
Since Titanfall is a Source title they might ship with a working SDK version? I don't know how much effort it takes to make it compatible for the public, so EA could affect that outcome but since they're not wholly owned by EA it might work in their favor. We'll find out I suppose.

I think it looks super sleek and modern. I'm not an Apple fanboy though I barely ever touched one and don't know what Ios6 looks like, I can only compare it to my Android device. But yeah, looks sweet!

3:30 Jack Bauer. He's not even doing a different voice? Exactly what I was fearing for :s Still hope there's some conspiracy.
But yeah, that trailer looks hot as fuck
There's only a couple of next gen titles that look visually impressive so far imo, this is definitely one of them! -
I wonder if there's some sort of online service that lets you share games in a giant network? Does that exist?
Or is games rental still legal in other countries?I'm still undecided which console I'm gonna get first though, it's gonna depend on the day 1 exclusives I suppose. And not sure if I'll get Plus since most multiplayer titles are multiplatform anyways? I'd rather not have 2 online subscriptions to be able to play online. And dayum at that price! Sweet

Damn this E3 is awesome

Damn that looks amazing
DAT MAP!Too bad they typo'd the trailer title though xD
-
Btw, it's all "in engine", no CG.
-
No it's made in the Stockholm office

Gratz to Rick and crew that crunched their ass off on getting us this trailer! Us level designers unfortunately couldn't be of help there

I'm super proud right now, holy shit

And check out the wallpaper for Faith's updated look: http://www.mirrorsedge.com/img/ME_Wallpap…920x1080_01.jpg

That much was a given since they made a new multiplatform engine?

-
Yeah there was a video before that that didn't have sound as well but they didn't wait on that one

Patrick looked really pissed, holy shit

Isn't that because of the cost of living? If you convert 499 USD that would be dirty cheap

It's more than I thought though, weren't they supposed to go cheaper than last gen?

Where do you folks go for your E3 digest? Kotaku is a mess
I'm missing news reports left and right. -

There is no benefit to customers. Steam was a pain in the ass at launch as well, it was only DRM and not the indie-fest it is now
I do think it's a bad strategy of them of not giving us anything in return for this, people are used to it now and we don't always have to go back to shit before things turn beneficial again (if ever).A lot of misinformation apparently, understandable seeing how Microsoft handled this

You can turn the Kinect off entirely if you want. But I suppose if your xbox is hacked (tough chance?) then it could be on since your Xbox One is always on (well, more like in standby mode).
I just don't care really, all I care about is games. I'm pretty sure I will end up with an Xbone anyhow just for the exclusives. I'm still undecided which console I'm gonna use for multiplatform titles, e.g. the "main console" in my living room. We'll find out in a couple of months I suppose.

Next TV is gonna be a 65" for sure, you can never go too big with TV's xD It's pricey but I think I have never made a better investment than a TV, SO worth it. (Perhaps a projector but it's a bit annoying to set up and what if the room is not dark :/)
I do wonder as well how big that one is, does look bigger than 55?

- You do not own the games you buy. You license them.
- Discs are only used to install and then license games and do not imply ownership.
- People can play games installed on your console whether you're logged in or not.
- 10 people can be authorised to play these games on a different Xbox One via the cloud, but not at the same time, similar to iTunes authorised devices.
- Publishers decide whether you can trade in your games and may charge for this.
- Publishers decide whether you can give a game you own to someone for free, and this only works if they have been on your friends list for 30 days.
- Your account allows you to play the games you license on any console.
- Your Xbox One must connect to the internet every 24 hours to keep playing games.
- When playing on another Xbox One with your account, this is reduced to one hour.
- Live TV, Blu-ray and DVD movies are exempt from these internet requirements.
- Loaning and renting games will not be possible at launch, but Microsoft is "exploring the possibilities".
- Microsoft may change these policies or discontinue them at any point.
Well, most of this is how it always has been, at least legally... There was just no way to enforce it. I actually kinda endorse this, it's a big step forward from grey-zone piracy like sharing games or buying 2nd hand... Less money to retailers, more money to people actually creating the game, it's only fair?
Not saying I didn't sin against this, I did share some games with friends

PC gaming has been like this for a while so I don't really see the problem. It's not like a disc and the booklet actually warrant the $60 pricetag and ownership, it was always the license that set the price of a game, the disc was just the medium to get it to your console. Why should you have different rights if you paid the same for a download title or bought the disc-version, doesn't make sense. Just because you have a disc doesn't give you the right of being a distributor. Compare it to DVD's and the more expensive rental copy of DVD's. Perhaps they should do the same for games?
Really interesting how PS4 is gonna respond, I doubt publishers will allow 2 different kind of policies?

Xbox 360, PS3, Denon AVR, Samsung D7005 55", Dali Zenzor 7 speakers.
You can almost see my small desk where I play on a laptop on the right, but I mostly output it through my TV and play with a controller. I'd want to complete my sound system to an all surround but I'm gonna wait till I buy my own place.
As you can see it's not a dedicated entertainment room, I live in a studio but it's got everything I need right now
