of course, i just wouldn't use zero punctuation as a way of deciding whether or not i should play a game or not.

I would wager that anyone who uses ZP to decide if they should buy a game or not has already made up their mind and simply uses it as justification to the internet. Not that the internet particularly cares.

7 sequels later, could they finally be approaching the greatness that was Mortal Kombat 2 again?

AVGN is pretty amazing, especially when he brings in a "guest star" like that cracked out Bugs Bunny.

I can't wait to see if the game my wife is working on makes an appearance. Last time her old employers got screwed because Microsoft hated them.

    Unfortunally no, you cant.

Just send an e-mail to UDK team PhilipK. Might be a shot in the dark, but who knows.

A number of features in the current release of the UDK originally started as user requests. Epic seems pretty dedicated to putting in features that their users would like to see.

It was too dark to make out much more than the chair at work. At home on my super bright monitor it's still quite dark, but I can make out more if I concentrate hard.

What I really liked is that they very rarely resorted to cheap scares. There were a few, but it's a welcome relief from most horror games that seem to be trying to startle you every 20 seconds. The "horror" atmosphere feels a lot more like Silent Hill 2 with that long feeling of dread that rarely ever goes away (except with the roiling shadow fog at night that makes bushes briefly look like ax murderers instead of psycho rusted shadow scary fun time land in SH).

What I love about the Taken is just the absolute non-sense they spew whenever they talk.

They give you a good idea about what that person would have been prior to the events of the game to reinforce the very "real world" grounding that Remedy is trying so hard to achieve.

Sometimes the lines just crack me up with how random they are: "THERE ARE THREE FATTY ACIDS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOUR HEART!" *swings ax at Wake*.

The final boss, while appropriate, was a bit of a let down in the difficulty department. I don't know what the deal is with modern games making easy final bosses these days. Feels a bit anti-climactic to fight your way to the final big bad boss, only to be able to sneeze at it and watch the credits roll.

Overall, I'm definitely glad with playing it on hard mode the first time through. It was a real challenge that only frustrated me enough to walk away only a few times, but really added to the atmosphere with how dangerous the enemies were. Never playing horror games on normal difficulty again after this.

For anyone who bought the Collector's Edition, did you see the level editor they made for this game? HOLY CRAP, WANT! I'll buy the PC version whenever/if it gets released as long as they give access to that beautiful piece of software.

I'd recommend taking a look at this regarding the clutter in your scenes. Feels obvious once you've read it, but it helps a lot.

The mod community isn't dead, it has just changed name and form to "indie games" community.

Truth here. When I went looking for a mod team to join, I ended up on an indie game team. Indie games are the new TCs. Thanks UDK & Unity!

Funny you mention Bioshock 2. I just started it over the weekend, and while I can understand the people fuming over the storyline, the level of detail and environmental storytelling is leaps and bounds above the first game's, and it was terrific in that aspect.

Restart on hard, HP. It's worth it. I never feel like I have too much ammo except when I stock up at one of those endless revolver bullet dumpsters, but I usually still run out. Some of the encounters are really hard when it only takes 3 consecutive hits to die. The hardest one so far was

when you go into the house that has the toggleable lights around it and pick up the shotgun, which triggers the ambush of 6 or 7 Taken.

I think I'm almost at the end of Act 3.

Definitely recommend the first playthrough on hard mode. Makes the already terrific atmosphere even better when the enemies are super deadly and not just standard challenge obstacles.

Please have a cover system that works on a toggle instead of having to hold down L2 until your hand starts cramping.

Please don't make the single player campaign criminally short again.
