Had a lot of fun with this one. Would have loved to see more of the cloning mechanic.

You should be able to do something along those lines. I remember when working in the Gears editor all the florescent lights of many shapes and sizes all used the same material.

This looks incredibly clever. Can't wait to try it.

-
You should include download links and game play videos. 3 screen shots and bare-bones textual description aren't enough.
-
You can create a second material with the different colors (or create a Material Instance Constant with a color adjustment - which is cheaper on performance), then assign that material to the model under its property options. No need to remake the entire model.

I don't get the tilde joke.

I'm always down for some L4D action. Toss me an invite if we're ever on at the same time.

I motion this thread be moderated.

Bought Bioshock 2 and Sam and Max: The Complete Series from the Steam sale.

There's an icon/drop down box on the top toolbar that's labeled "Local" and "World." This controls the orientation of the widget when you have an actor/edge/vertex selected. Set it to world to fix your widget woes.

Mind blowing is the perfect word for that demo. Tons of spectacle, great open arena design, and fantastic pacing.
Not sure what was so scripted about it. The skyhook rails? It looked like you could jump off at any time.

Quote from csyver
It's sad, and strange, that considering how widely UE3 is being used, there's still no good games (that aren't +3 years old) you could map for. I was hoping Bulletstorm would be moddable, but I guess not...
Bioshock should have had an editor. I wish Bioshock had an editor.

UDK will definitely be the easiest to get into. You can also pick up Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War PC if you want to try your hand with full content games, though you'll lose a lot of the new features of UDK light Lightmass. Also, the Gears of War editor is buggy and crash-happy, so don't get too invested in it (mistake I made).

For the customers in this case, its convenience that's infringed upon.
Truth be told, EA has historically operated at high costs, and profit margins of 7%-9%. They're probably expecting Call of Duty-level sales figures from BF3 and simply can't afford Steam's margins. Crysis 2 probably sold way more through Steam than they expected, and they lost revenues as a result.
