He said the same about a year ago, that half the studio were focused on a new engine. I guess it will get launched with HL3.

Didn't play ns1, all I know is its a bullshit mechanic. Ill do a harass and when the extractor gets to like 100hp it gets sold. They basically suffer no penalty and I get no resources. Why even bother.

I only have one complaint, being able to sell buildings under attack is bullshit.

Yeah what the fuck, the graphics look far from dated, im guessing he has a shit rig.Characters arent amazing, but everything else looks pretty great.

Had 2 freezes so far, not sure why but it makes me wish there was a history or rejoin last server. Both times it crashed we were on the verge of victory.

For a start I wouldn't consider any of those the most memorable moments of any of those games. So he liked some pacing sections in those games? So what? That doesn't make for a game, no disrespect to things like dear ester, but that game got fucking boring after the first 30 minutes. Its an interactive story, which on its own is fair enough if thats what your looking for, but games aren't just interactive storys, they have gameplay, its the entire point of the medium. For me most of the greatest games of the last 5 years had no story what so ever, they were sandboxes.

Played 7 hours so far, still really enjoying it. Each game takes about 30-40 mins which is great.

Whats the goal of the player? what sort of size areas are you limited by?

If the goal is to discover things/get gold or something, add some more internal location. Like large sunken ships or like your shots above the inside of a large sunken temple. Maybe a underwater crevice with little light at the bottom might be an interesting location.

So as promised yesterday moroes. I enjoyed the map, it looked great but there is one problem I see with the layout and it may be why I don't remember ever playing the original siege. Below is a very simplified view of the map, the red line is effectively the mid point if both teams run to the centre and the centre is a little more open and defensive for the cts obviously.

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/Ctqd8.jpg]

Basically the T's would actually probably win if they hung back and just defended their spawn, the Cts have to pass through the warehouse, they have no other option. That really confused me to start with, I assumed (as a T) there was another route even though I couldn't find it (I believe all the hostage maps have two routes to them). So my first suggestion would be to open the T sewer up at the T side of it and have a flood channel or something that comes out at the dock behind the hostages, that means two routes the CT's have the option of assaulting.

The other suggestion to counter the T's having very little chance in the centre of the map is simply to find a way to reduce the transit to it by about 5-10 steps for T's. Maybe by doing as others have suggested and simplifying the T spawn. If I'm good and a CT with a rifle and I get to the van at the back of the centre area, I can kill anyone coming through the right door or up the ramp.

Also I would keep the CT sewer, the round time was too short on our games, but if it had been longer its good to have two routes at their end to take the hostages back on, rather than having the T's flank and camp a single route to the CT spawn.

Sorry if that's hard to understand, was a bit rushed typing it.

I've been listening to it nonstop. Loving the MOON and Jasper Byrne tracks but everything is great.

Yeah was going to mention Jasper made a track for it. For those that don't know Jasper used to be a DnB artist called Sonic which is why hes making some great music, now hes also a game developer.
