I wrote out a whole thing on this but tbh I can't be bothered. Statistically owning a property is going to be a bigger net contributer to your wealth than renting on average.

Now I lay my part in this debate to rest.

Ryan I literally said in my first post "If I wasn't moving around for jobs I would 100% be buying." I have already agreed if you move a lot you shouldn't buy.

I have lived in a country where 80% of people rent, trust me when I say you don't want us heading in that direction. You can say good bye to all your protections as a renter when that happens.

That is true, the drop in housing prices did cause some people to lose about 20k if they had bought between 2005-2008. Guess what though, I lost that much too. By renting.

Financially no matter how you look at it, home ownership is more profitable than renting. Even if the market collapses and your house value halves, that is still money. Renting earns you nothing and forces you to pay more. If I wasn't moving around for jobs I would 100% be buying.

Honestly if you aren't going to move Dux its probably a good idea, you would spend significantly less on a mortgage than on rent. But either way I wouldn't let anyone pressure you into doing something you aren't happy with.

Honestly, most of the games that get reviewed are fairly far along in development, ie nearly finished or entering beta/alpha but are of a final quality.

There have been a few games that have got in earlier than that, but generally they don't, TotalBiscuit for example has said he ignores most projects as they aren't in a state where he can really pass judgement and he doesn't have the time to review games that aren't ready given how many he gets sent.
