@ Freak I am so calling it that now

Quick you tube video which might give a better view of the map. I have not added in all the feedback that people suggested yet but I am getting there. Also the light rays from the bottom windows in the lower area look a bit weird atm.

    Thanks.

A lot of big studios listed a members. I would like to see a bit of response from a few of them and distance them selves from the organization.

It’s good to see a lot of distaste on the official forums for the IGDA on this subject. Looks like a lot of support is really starting to rally round for the guy who made the game.

Makes me think how did Mirrors Edge get round it then? I really don't know what you could do about it. In this case the IGDA is no help to him as the guy is on the board of directors. You can't just trademark edge. People like that know you are not going to have the money to fight them in court.

As far as a solution some sort of organisation is need like a guild or union for studios and indie developers with the funds to help them and the right people heading it up. I assume that’s what the IGDA is suppose to be.

Thanks it's great to get some advice from people such as your selves. I am going to start into a bit of L4D mapping soon to swing a bit towards single player or more scripted multiplayer anyway as L4D is a bit of both.

The whole visual or gameplay thing is going to be something I will have to work out. I suppose its difficult to say because every where is different but does the visual side of things lean a lot more towards modelling the different props and part of the level in the work place?

Yea its one of those topics again where I ask about getting into the industry. Hope I can keep it short. So June next year I will be finished my HND (Media Production) and more or less out of college. So I sort of feel I should ask for a bit of advice now and make sure I am on the right track.

I think my mapping is progressing fine with me getting in a few hours most days and I appear to be improving at a good speed. I got lost with 3D Modelling and have since went back to the basics and spend a bit of time every day learning the basic stuff I need.

So I am wondering what my best course of action would be, try to do something else (job in other words) and spend more time mapping , look for internships, or dare I say it go to uni which I would rather not do, would be another three years in education.

I had also considered a three month modelling course at Escape studios in London which is very good I hear.

Anyway I won’t go on any more and hope that all makes sense.

    Thanks

    Mat

Yea I know, but I feel like it only gets recognised as a great looking game when it’s a REALLY REALLY good shooter too.

Not as sure how this one did but it does a lot of cool stuff in terms of UI and Squad gameplay. Only playing it now and it holds up very well IMO.

People bitch about EA making the same game and then no one buys this!

Critic's look at what it didn't do far too much rather than what it did. A great spin off from my most loved series.

The story and all was fine but the reason to get this game is to blow shit up! I think the demo didn't give a good showing of the different types of buildings as some of them are very strong and take a good bit to destroy, but its all the better when it comes crashing down.

Working on this one for a few weeks for the haunted Unreal mod again. I think it’s a big improvement from the first one I tried for this mod. Would like some feedback on the lights as well to see what people think of them.

    Thanks!

Would be interesting if you did get the death ending and it carried over. But just think of all the development time it would take to build in a new character story on top of Sheppard for the people that he didn't die for.

I was always going to play it for 360 but it really annoys me that Microsoft went on about this Games for Windows thing and then focuses on the likes of "Bee Movie" as your flag ship game. If they had some balls they would have had the likes of Halo Wars and Alan Wake coming to PC on day one and a PC version not a console port with a UI built for controllers.

He has quite a strong American Accent for someone who was originally from Northern Ireland. I am sure we will see a few places trying this new game streaming tec out. I am optimistic about it but remain to be convinced of how well it will work in the real world.

Sounds good. Going to learn source (lol) and try a L4D map after my current Unreal one. Seeing some really cool custom maps so far.
