ITT: People enjoyed games and would like to play updated versions of them, the unimaginative freaks.Sega need to make another Streets of Rage, and they can give it to Platinum Games or Arc System Works (or me). Keep it a 2D brawler with modern fighting game snazziness dropped in, and avoid the mistakes of Final Fight: Streetwise. Yuzo Koshiro is doing retro XBLIG right now so I'm sure he can be coaxed in.
have you heard of the streets of rage remake?

Troika needs to exist again and make anything they want.
Toys For Bob needs to just make a REAL star control 3. I don't care if it still looks l ike SC2. Just evolved gameplay
-
yeah grass is the only issue for me too, the lighting is too bright/dark
besides that looking great

-
Has anyone else heard that Kotaku partially controlled by microsoft? They always posted garbage so I never read them in the first place.
A quick google got some interesting results..

So Bungie finally breaks away from having to make space shooters and become independent only to end up making another space shooter.

-
Yeah that's odd, since when is 3 million sold a bad thing? Didn't Dead Space do about the same as ME?

3D dot heroes
The ridiculous DOF, HDR and sharp shadows make the game look surreal, almost like looking at toys.
From software is fast becoming my favourite developer currently still in tact (RIP Troika )

Looks like tower defense in reverse. Pretty cool actually.
Also it looks like Defense Grid and I'm a DG junky

nice! congrats Robert. Looking forward to playing this

i like the 512 one
-
really cool concept! Looking at the screenshots I didn't realize it had that kind of puzzle gameplay.
Is that first shot sharpened in PS? I can pick up high frequency noise on it even without my glasses on.

wow awesome job peris
and I really appreciate the game not stealing mouse focus unless I explicitly tell it to
-
well I guess it's all good. I'm low on socks and can't afford new ones right now

-
yeah looks good, but not "blow my socks" off good like the first time I saw oblivion
-
that is rough. What type of open source license was it?
This might be a good reason to only open source the engine portion of a game and not the actual gameplay code.
-
yuck. I didn't even like it the first time around.

Although I think all the odds are against Sony (As it looks right now, smart phones and Nintendo pretty much have the entire market locked down as it is), then I really hope this will be something interesting. They kinda had to do the dual analog sticks, and they kinda needed a touch screen as well, but the one on the back? Really? Although it sounds kinda cool for the use in Little Deviants, then it just makes it feel like they've taken the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach. They do still have the big advantage of actually having tactile feedback, they can do games well that the touch based devices cant. But the really interesting bits from their press conference were Playstation Suite (which could be HUGE for Android phones), and the fact that they emphasized that you could almost port PS3 games for the NGP. I heard some people talk about the prospects of then being able to play the same game on your PS3 and NGP, so that you'd be able to start it up on your PS3 at home, and progress through it on NGP while you're away from home. It's a beautiful idea, but it seriously sounds like a pipe dream to me. Imagine how much cross referencing and how much parallel QA you'd have to do to get it working, sounds like a huge job for the developers unless the NGP features some dream tech that makes it possible to run on PS3 test kits.
Anyway, I'm quietly rooting for Sony, but I seriously doubt that the NGP or PSP2 or whatever will be the success that it needs to be.
And I am absolutely certain that the price will be way too high, after all, this is Sony we're talking about. They said that if you thought the PS3 was pricey at launch (which it was), then you should just work harder to be able to afford it

I think that exists to some degree with the current PSP (streaming gameplay). The game has to support it though and few do.
