It's quite fun. Not a fan of the camera lean when you strafe but a pretty fun game. Kind of reminds me of Blake Stone

Rage. I love the actual combat. Some of the best feeling combat in a long time. The vehicles and talking really get in the way of the fun though.
Doom4 could be awesome if Id remembers their roots. They need to get the old team back together.

Anyone else addicted to this game? I ended up picking this up after seeing it on the top of some game of the year lists. It's really addictive. It's sort of like a large zelda dungeon that's proceduraly generated every time you play. An entire game/campaign takes around 15-25 mins which fits great for me right now.
The game is also getting a boxed release soon (in the UK only IIRC) and it comes with some art. I love the realistic interpretation painting of isaac in the basement. I'm ready to buy it again just for the bonus/box art.

I did similar work in a job like that for about 2 years. You can order heightmap data down to 10cm/pixel resolution but it costs a crapload of money and you have to wait in a queue of all the other people who ordered heightmap data before you. I think we were working around the 1m/pixel range.
As for the sides of those building. I'm guessing they must have had someone come in and do those by hand. I can't imagine how a sattelite could possibly pick that up. Maybe from reconstructing multiple angles but then they would have issues with buildings blocking other buildings. There has to be some human involvement somewhere along the line.

Nice. I've been doing that a lot lately with the HDMI out on my laptop. It's great for games like monkey island or super meat boy (with a xbox controller). Not so great for anything that needs a mouse/kb.

Quote from Algor
I'm at Gwyn now...

what is your SL?
try to go in at about 80-90. Then there will be a lot of white soul signs. He's really not too hard.
Also all the guards leading to Gwym have guaranteed chunk drops so if you are weak on weapons you can get to max after a handful of runs through that world. Also if you put down a white soul sign and defeat gwyn you get 50k souls.
oops nm congrats

So you think the guy writing the guide was thinking "Damn I wish I was playing Deus Ex right now" ?

Just about to fight Gwyn. I spent a lot of time leveling faith so I can get replenishment.Pretty underwhelming with my magic abilities right now. Pretty close to being able to use TwOP. I feel bad about using it in PvP though.

Ah cool
I've been there with severely underestimating how long it would take to code something

-
I believe they also are changing Tranquil Walk of Peace. Thank god, the fog ring with TWoP was brutal. It took me like 20 tries to get the 3rd kill for the forest cat god. Ended up slashing widly with a Raw Zweihander +5 and managed to clip the fogged guy

Any idea if they are letting you target player with the ring of fog?
Also are there specific weapons required for stuff like Chaos and Occult upgrades? I gave the chaos ember to the skeleton and I can see the chaos upgrade slot but my weapons only seem to qualify for fire damage.

Nice, i like the green area up top

So I haven't posted in here in a hell of a long time. Mostly because I've been in school for programming and got a job. Anyways the Job is finished and I dont start school until Jan so I have some time to work on some game projects.
Here's a video of me making a quick level for my game and exporting it into the engine and playing it. I ended up writing some LUA exporters for the DAME open source level editor rather than write my own level editor.
Plans over the next week are to focus on visuals (HUD redo, post-processing and cloud layers) and fully implementing the character customization stuff. Maybe a few new weapons and enemies if I can squeeze it in

Here is a link to the firmware/instructions for getting the Hori stick running on windows.
http://community.us.playstation.com/thr ... 0&tstart=0
edit link is broken there. You can find a working copy by searching fs3drv on google.

I have the Madcatz TE and the Hori
The Hori is perfectly fine to use. Unless you are REALLY into fighters you'll be fine. It's a great deal for 50$ and it works great with emulators. There is a guy who made a custom windows firmware for it too for better compatibility. By default windows looks at the joystick as a hatswitch which doesn't play well with some emulators. It;s fixed so pressing the home button changes its mapping.

I showed this to my dad (an architect) and he was quite interested. He asked if I could do a 3d version if he designs one

I would agree about the floor too. Some nice new looking laminate would be nice.
something like this

Just played it for a while this morning. Fun game, I got some pretty nuts chain reactions. The girlfriend became the passenger seat driver after about 10 mins of watching though

If you don't mind my asking how long was the development time on this game?
-
Definitely. The environments are unbelievable. One of the best parts of the game is getting to a new area and spending a lot of time cautiously studying everything about it. I love how they designed it so that you really feel like you're in a large structure. I remember after I began to get my bearings going to the Bell Gargoyle area, looking over the tower and realizing I could see all the areas I've been to and all the areas I'm going to go to.
I would also love to see how they managed to design the game. It must have taken some insanely meticulous planning.
So I had a red phantom invade me the other night and he was invisible like a ghost. I couldnt target him and he one-shotted me with a giant sickle!
Is it possible to have ghost status? That seems a little rough, I'm gonna have to make sure I have transient curses on my quick items.

That's awesome.
Funny, we had a business project in school and our chosen business was retrofitted shipping containers as motels. We were trying to pack 8 people in there though (think Japanese sleeping tubes).
I wouldn;t mind living in your version though

Are you planning to do a full house layout. It would be interesting to see how the kitchen would be handled in such a narrow space.

Well I'm completely addicted to this game. My favorite console game series of this generation.
