I think you meant to say "ProBuilder" instead of ProGrids?

    I did indeed :X

Here's where I'm at so far

I think the lack of level design I've been doing lately has been building up in my subconscious

Also sixbyseven. I've notice one thing about progrids. I'm not sure if this is my fault or not but every so often the progrids mode causes the marquee select to be offset visually by about 20 or so pixel diagonally. The select is still the same but the visual feedback from the marquee is off.

So far I've been solving it by reloading one of my backup projects then reimporting all my scenes and assets since the last backup.

Is there some mode I'm accidentally switching to that's causing this issue?

Mind you it works fine in regular unity primitive select mode. It only has these issues when I'm in progrids mode..

EDIT: I've managed to replicate the situation that causes this bug:

    1) Enter Probuilder edit mode

    2) place a point light

    3) Enter the inspector and change mode of the light to hard

    4) enable deferred lighting

At this point is seems to cause the selection marquee to be permanently off after that. Undoing to the point of light creating seems to fix it.

EDIT2) It seems to only have this effect when deferred lighting is enabled.

I noticed on the main page that it says you can export to Obj but I can't find anything about that in the video tutorials and it doesnt mention it in the commercial vs free comparison.

Is there a way to do this in Unity?

Figured it out. Had to a bit of a crash course on unity editor modification. Didn't realize there were some symbolic names for folders like Editor etc..

Just bought ProGrids. ProBuilder is a little expensive for me right now. That said if I were to get into Unity seriously I would definitely get it.

Luckily Unity allows a 30 day trial so I can play with the nice lighting and it fits in nice with the schedule of the contest.

Posting shots to my personal tumblr. Will post wips when there's actually something decent to show

    http://infinitestate.tumblr.com/

EDIT: What I would love to see in Probuilder is a clip tool like in hammer.

EDITEDIT: Is the texture editor disabled in the free version of probuilder? The material chooser is greyed out. That's kind of a large hindrance. Is it still possible to do texture manipulations in Unity itself? I'm new to both tools.

    EDITEDITEDIT:

"I haven't had great experiences with Unity in the past but this really makes it a hell of a lot easier and nicer to use" - I might have to quote you on that. Thanks!

    Go right ahead

The lack of coordinate space modes isn't that bad, I can live without it. Now the lack of ability to change grid resolutions in the grid app is definitely going to affect me. Then again it's only 25$.

EDIT: So yeah I think I'm gonna enter. I haven't had great experiences with Unity in the past but this really makes it a hell of a lot easier and nicer to use. Sketched up something quick and just finished the basic blocking. Will need to wake up early on my work days to keep it up

So far it's been really easy to get started. It's certainly a lot more fun to use than the standard unity primitives. I do have one question though. Pressing P doesn't seem to switch coordinate spaces like it says in the documentation. Is that a commercial feature? I'm using unity 4 (latest as of today).

Just started playing with this. It's quite nice so far. I may have a few questions but I'll refrain until I watch the tutorial videos.

    Glad you like the blog

Sorry the answer to this may be staring at me right in the face but should the entry be made with probuilder?

Regardless probuilder does look cool. If I were to get into Unity I this seems like a great way to do it.

I don't know of a Vita release. I can't imagine it being too nice to play on a handheld as it uses six buttons and double inputs for throws, assists, tags, supers and snaps D:

There will be a PC release, though.

Ah yeah. My rule is that I only play 4 button fighters on the Vita. My lord though, the Vita is just perfect for 4 button fighters. I REALLY hope they bring KOFXIII to Vita. It's a match made in heaven.

Well if Skullgirls comes to PC I'll be all over it.

Well it took about 2.5 hours but everything is finally tagged

It should be about 30 mins until the tagging is updated on the tag page. There's a server that queries the blgo every 30 mins and updates the tag page.

Looks like I'll have to get it when I get back to Canada. Unless it comes out on the Vita before then.

Trying to get back into Skullgirls now Squigly and Big Band have been funded by their indiegogo crowd-funding thingamajig. I actually haven’t been playing it since the patch which makes me a terrible person. From what I can gather Big Band is like Nrvnqsr Chaos only instead of opening up his flashers coat for shadow animals and tentacles it’s trombones and cornets. I approve of this.

If you think this was mainly about linking the indiegogo campaign rather than saying what I've been playing... you'd be right. Also, Heart of the Swarm, League of Legends, and Vergil's campaign in DmC.

How does skuilgirls play? Liking it?

In case there's any confusion. Tumblr has unlimited storage. You don't have to worry about upload limits. The only limit is each individual image can't be larger than 10MB

Got a basic tag search page up now. It works a little wonky with the theme because it shows the series of links from reblogged posts. I think I need to change the theme to a grid format that doesn't show that information unless you actually click the image. I'll be experimenting with that so bare with me for now.

    Tag search page :

    http://leveldesigninspirationmachine.tumblr.com/tagsearch

EDIT: NM it works fine it just has a bug where when you reach the end of all the tagged images it starts writing the word "new" over and over again :X

Infinite scrolling is enabled! Please test it out and let me know if it works for you. I had to inject some javascript into the page to do it.

Also submissions are now live. Make sure to send me your name and website if you plan to post often so I can add it to the about section.

    http://leveldesigninspirationmachine.tumblr.com/submit

Also Algor, I think I might be able to get something similar to that on this page. I'll play around and see what I can do. As such you might see the layout change a bit over the next couple days.

EDIT: If you want a more stacked view of the images you can use this page for now. Working on figuring out a way to do it better. http://leveldesigninspirationmachine.tumblr.com/archive
