yeah for icons and stuff like that I can see SVG being the way to go.
Congrats man! I can barely hndle a cat so you're a better man than I.
Man, I think it's time I revisit the DmC series. I made the huge mistake of being introduced to DmC with DmC 4
Resogun and Contrast are finally up on Playstation Plus.
Funny how my ps4 game collection is accumulating. I almost want to hold off so I have a nice PSPlus backlog of ps4 games.
For lack of a better word, Iove how the color pops.

Maybe it technically does run but they dont want to officially support it. It sounds really weird that they would port a multi-plat/OGL game to windows/directx

Slightly higher than the PS4. Least surprising review of the year.

One of the key graphics programmers at 343 (MS's Halo studio) has left for Naughty Dog.
Haven't heard that name in a long time. IIRC she was the one who designed and developed 3D realms post-Build tech.
Quote from SkackyIn my eyes id "died" as soon as John Romero, Sandy Petersen and American McGee (who's probably my favorite level designer) left. Now I'm not saying id's games after Quake were bad (except maybe Quake 2), but they did not have the impact of their earlier titles even though they had great engines. I'm confident Carmack will do wonderful things at Oculus now. I think he should have done that years ago.
I'm with you on that
What is he focusing on currently? Still the spaceship thing?
He's at Occulus? Awesome!
Pardon my ignorance. What does PBR mean?
I just read this thread from first post to last for the first time.
Around page 3-4 my thoughts were "this is done, awesome work" then it just kept getting better and better. Awesome work.
Kotaku's review score was YES?
Yeah my main issue is my ps3 backlog is approaching 15 titles. They are just sitting there still in their plastic wrap.
I actually prefer the tiles to the start menu now that I've heavily modified my win8. It's one less click to get to the programs I want and a larger selection.
Here's what my "start menu" looks like right now.

Of course this isn't totally ideal. Some things I'd like to control are tile grouping, tile size, tile transparency (so I can get grid ordering without useless tile space).
Also remember you get all the auxilliary windows tools by pressing Win-X
Is it perfect? Not even close
Do I prefer it to the windows 7 start button method now that I've customized it? Definitely.
EDIT: It's also really annoying that you can't style the metro start menu easily.
Shacknews doesn't really seem to like it.
It's ultimately one of those great graphics launch games. I wouldnt expect it to have a particularly deep combat system.
Yeah it's a shame they tried to apply the tiles concept across all their devices whether they would benefit from it or not. The idea of having a common interface across all devices is admirable but I can't really think of any real world implementation where that's ever come close to working.
Just read about this on shacknews. Congrats. I haven't played it yet so I'll hold out for the paid version ![]()
