I used a C++ runtime library called ERSkeletonman to create this mod.

Whoa that's really cool! So you are able to get at the skeleton instances because Elden Ring uses standard RTTI? I've never seen a game engine use the standard RTTI stuff. It's always been some custom solution (usually involving libclang IIRC).

I finally gave it a try as I'm on vacation. My wife said to me "wow that game looks sharp as hell!"

I was playing it on a 9 year old 970gtx desktop. On the other hand I have a fancy LG C2/HDR and ps5. I guess the smaller screen made it pop more.

I’m a UI designer, so I’m a bit biased in liking wheels as a gizmo.

Objectively, wheels are the best type of menu in terms of limiting mouse movement and clicks.

But apart from games we don’t really see them, and there are reasons for that.

Personally I have given some thoughts and I can imagine a level/game editor using wheels and minimalistic UI. I would bind the wheel to TAB and be contextual to what is selected at that moment in time. That should work at least for the most common actions, then other stuff could still be docked away the traditional way. But ofc I haven’t tried to mock this up let alone implement it.

I’d be very curious to see what you’re doing @NikiOo

I feel like I've seen that to some degree in some game. Fortnight maybe?

Neat! I'm def gonna give this a try. The voxel smoke grenade tech is pretty cool. I love how they made an engine-specific solution to a gameplay element.

The Street Fighter 6 demo is out. It's single player and I generally only play fighting games against another human but unlike SFV this looks promising!

I didn't predict that the colored gelatin would be sticky. I thought that the white cream would make the flavoured gelatin float but it didn't.

The original recipe asks for condensed milk. I replaced it with coconut milk, grated coconut and Xylitol. The grated coconut ended up being a bad idea because the cream ended up too thick and hard to pour and mix.

    It tastes great though.

Is that this ambrosia salad thing I've heard so much about?

But in games it really makes the image pop when used with proper tone mapping. It took me few months before I realized to turn off the horrible TV default HDR setting and use HGiG mode. I recommend looking that up. I just wish HDR were implemented in games more often. Playstation should have the XBox equivalent auto HDR feature so that we could play older titles with deeper colors.

Ghost Of Tshusima especially has some of the best HDR I’ve seen so far.

Oh interesting. I'll look into HGiG

So the funny thing was I was playing Elden ring and thinking it looks really good with HDR. Then I realized HDR was off :D

After turning it on it REALLY looked good. Everyone noticed a profound difference.

Awesome, that's a great way to go. I shipped my first console game that way :)

Sometimes things are easier without an engine.

Broke my TV about 4 months ago and wasn't planning to get another one but a bunch of people talked me into the LG C2 TV. Supposed to get here in a week or so. I'm holding off playing the PS5 etc until then.

I'm most interested to see HDR since that's not something you can really show on youtube on an LDR screen.
