Quote from ThrikBleh to that. More like Day of Defeat: Source: Source please.
Day of Defeat was great. I loved joining a moderately populated server and roleplaying "enemy at the gates"
I bought it when it was 5 bucks/free weekend last year and there were tons of newb players, so I could pretend I was an FPS god ![]()
I don't see why. I've heard that Bionic Commando is doing well, and surely making Wanted and Terminator didn't break the bank, since combined they're less content than most single games.

Yes. I wish I had a link for this one.
Carmageddon owns, with modern physics and gore/deformation it'd be even better.
Why'd they switch engines? Last I heard they were licensing Source and now they're making their own from scratch?

Just doesn't strike me as the best cover you could take in a battlefield. What if he has to run from a grenade, he'll totally trip himself up.

Hey, at least you've got a flashlight you can use while shooting, and there are other people in the world
That's another way I ended up passing nights, finding a local STALKER camp and just hanging out with them, listening to one of them play guitar. The ruined train station was my favorite.
Quote from BuddyI just love how people love some mods just because they make things look "different" and in most cases it doesnt mean "better".
STALKER with the Darker Nights mod sure made things look "different", and also "Way better". Now you can get the experience of going into one of the scripted scary research labs every time the sun goes down! ![]()
Seriously, STALKER with pitch black nights was fucking terrifying, especially in areas with the bigger mutants, when by default (At least in DX8 which is all I could play on) nights looked like days with a different sky texture. I can't think of a single game experience that had me jumping out of my seat as often or as frequently as STALKER with dark nights. Or a game experience that had me, all on my own without prompting, decide it was a good idea to climb into a small, hard to get to place and just stay there, staring out at the entrance, waiting for dawn. ![]()
Edit for screenshot I found online:

Yeah, imagine getting swarmed by snorks in that situation
Quote from kleinlukaSo what? If they want my $60 then I want a real Terminator! I don't think the average customer gives a shit when the studio was opened.
I've always thought Terminator would fit well for a game like RE3 or Clock Tower. The Terminators play good "Impossible, impervious, unbeatable enemies". Imagine that with a next gen engine that lets you do stuff like blow up walls and ceilings to create rubble blocking the robot's path from chasing you, and
Like a horror puzzle game!
Quote from e-freakSame goes for german, where we created 20 words for different beer kinds, and if you look at the card in an anglo-sachsian restaurant it just says "Beers".
Beer, dark beer, light beer, Ale, Lager, Mead, do liquors like vodka, schnapps, rum, etc. count under those 20 words, too? Because the eskimo thing is similarly tilted. Those 20 words for snow include sleet, mud, hail, frost, ice, black ice, precipitation snow, snow banks, etc. There's nothing you can explicitly say in the eskimo language you can't in english. You just need a couple extra qualifier words for some cases.
I took Spanish in every year of middle school and high school, and it was required (that or Russian or German as alternatives. I think once you had four years under your belt you could replace it from a small list of electives). ![]()
Course, I pretty much don't remember any of it. Yo soy mal a espanol!
Quote from ErraticFrom what I've played, I don't know what the fuck they're talking about. My best guess is giant whiny babies are writing the reviews.
The games a fucking blast.
Giant Bomb loved it. The shooting sucks ass (the guns are all low ammo pea shooters, in their words) but swinging around and grappling people to death is apparently great.
Quote from jaboo224I think gt gave this a badreview just on the 4 hours... Gameplay looks solid to me with no bugs mentioned in the review... Oh well i guess after you review so many 10 / 10 games (i wonder how they got perfect) a game that gives you a decent experience is considered shit. :[
A bad review for a full priced game only lasting less than four hours is pretty legit, but it's not just that.

Here's their review of Wanted: Weapons of Fate. They mention that it's less than FIVE hours, but overall the review's much more positive with the score 7 instead of 4.
If I had a machine that could rent things instead of only buying them outright, I'd definitely try out Wanted. Fucking LOVED the movie. ![]()

I don't know how anybody could say Quake was better than Duke, especially now. Quake's a very brown shooter and is hard to play it for longer than 10 minutes without getting an eyesore, while Duke's amazingly fun even today, especially with source ports. Quake 2 and 3 are excellent, but Quake 1 is pretty bad.
Here's a screenshot of the bad guys:
[Blocked Image: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ci_treant.jpg]
Does this apply to DD or just to retail? Since PC gaming's moving towards almost pure DD anyway, I would think the effect would be to more hurry that process than anything.
Even without that though I think the effect's being exaggerated a bit. It's not saying buggy games can't be released or must be recalled, just that buyers can get a refund, putting programs and digital products at parity with other consumer products. I can't really fault giving a consumer the ability to not be stuck with a bad product.
