The game would serve better as a lower priced expansion.

We don't know how much they plan on charging for L4D2 (probably depends on how long this furor lasts). For all we know it'll end up being exactly that in all but name (and way more content than just an expansion).

i dont really understand why you people are getting pissed off about this... you'll still be able to play L4D online anyway...

Even better, you'll be able to play L4D in L4D2, they're porting the levels forward, or at least planning to right now. That right there solves all my issues with L4D2 and will happily buy it when it comes out.

Am I the only one that is asking himself why duffy was banned?

He's had banned in his user title while still posting just fine for as long as I can remember noting it.

There's really no noticeable, relevant value to multiple +12v rails.

I made a 2d level for Knytt Stories but you can't make new enemies or creatures, or really change the gameplay. It's good for expressing 2d design ideas you want to try out though (which is why I tried it out). The KS editor is really nice, lets you have layers and custom backgrounds and music and sound effects are easily imported.

Yeah, it probably can adjust fog, color correction, rain, and maybe toggle the skybox appearance. Nothing too amazing for Source, but neat or what it is.

I actually saw a youtube video of someone demonstrating fully dynamic lighting in Source for some mod, but I can't remember what it was or how they did it.

Will the PC version just be a straight port then or will it get extra attention and detail seeing it can handle more than the 360?

The Cryengine 3 demo videos I've seen look worse than Cryengine 2 so I'd guess that Crysis 2 on PC looks at least as good as Crysis 1, which is more than the console releases can say

RPS also has a podcast interviewing Chet Faliszek, the project lead for L4D2, and it goes into why they decided to make a full sequel so soon.

I do not have that problem kungfu. But your rant made me believe in your cause.

There are a number of conditions that can effect how people can experience games. I'm personally blind in one eye, and all this recent stuff with 3d annoys me because I can't experience any of it, and my best friend is red/blue colorblind, and I'm sure you can imagine what sorts of problems that causes for online games

I kinda expect them to package L4D 1/2 together for retail at full price, and then have L4D2 alone at $30/40 on Steam. After L4D2 comes out the first game won't have much value at all so it makes sense they'd include it in the L4D2 release for the sake of completion.

It's an Ingram, not an Uzi

Exact same thing in videogame land. Uzi is a general term for any machine pistol when it comes to gaming lingo.

Whole bunch of L4D2 videos released all at once, including gameplay footage. The uzi has barbwire wrapped around the barrel

I'm actually gonna give L4D2 the benefit of the doubt. It DOES sound like it's coming way soon compared to Valve's normal behaviors, but what they've got looks good. I dig the New Orleans setting, I dig the visuals, and I really, really dig the extensive upgrade to their gore system.

Telltale are making a new Monkey Island game called Tales of Monkey Island

Lucasarts are internally remaking Secret of Monkey Island 1 (it'll probably be shit since it's lucasarts internally doing it)

That's the one I finally settled on, too.

Left 4 Dead 2, in New Orleans, with upgraded gore model and chainsaws, released 1 year exactly after L4D :o

The MS press conference has supposedly already started but I can't find a stream that's actually working. G4TV's is playing some cartoon commercial thing I couldn't recognize because it was downloading extremely goddamn slow so I only saw like two seconds of it over a minute. None of the other links are working for the stream yet.

Gameplay footage reminds me of Crash and Spyro back when those games were good (the three PS1 titles for both), before they were turned into bottom budget shovelware kiddy games owned by activision. I fucking LOVED those games when I was in middle school. Looking forward to this now.

Wattage for power supply doesn't even really matter anymore, as long as it's over 400-500W, unless you're going for multiple CPUs, multiple GPUs, etc. When replacing a video card, the power area that might be an issue for something more demanding isn't wattage, but amp on the +12v line. Something new and fancy, like, say, a GTX260, you'd want at least 30A. Mainly, though what you want is quality and reliability. If what you've never given you shit, and it's not too old (a few years), then you shouldn't need a new one, especially since you're budgeting and not getting the extreme stuff.

    http://kofler.dot.at/sshock/

I was linked to this site the other day, a collection of remixes of System Shock music (as well as remastered mp3s of midis), and listening to the SS1 intro hit me with such a strong bout of nostalgia that I started reinstalling the game right then and there. Shadowrun (sega version)'s main theme has the same effect, as does Deus Ex: IW's, and basically anything associated with Jesper Kyd (I have the OSTs to all four Hitman games + Freedom Fighters on my MP3 player).

What gaming music (or imagery, or references) has this effect on you?
